
"Precious", the movie that was based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire was premiered in a star-studded gala at the legendary Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
The Urban drama, which opens in theaters on Friday, November 6th follows Clareece 'Precious' Jones, an overweight, illiterate and abused Harlem teen who is pregnant with her second child and invited to enroll in an alternative school in hopes that her life will head in a new direction.
Director Lee Daniels was speechless at the top honors the $10 million dollar filmed received at an event hosted by the American Film Institute. He stated, "I am humbled and speechless."
The executive producers Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry were present along with the cast of 'Precious' which included, Gabourey Sidibe, Mariah Carey, Mo'Nique, Paula Patton (along with musician husband Robin Thicke), and Sherri Shepherd.
The novelist Sapphire attended this grand event as well. Superstar Mary J. Blige who co-wrote one of the lead songs from the movie attended with husband Kendu.
I personally read the book and would recommend everyone to go and see this movie. The book was riveting, heart wrenching, and phenomenal. Let's show support to this film. I'm positive it wont be money wasted!

this was a very interesting book and at a point i was thinking about how is this book/movie relevant to the site and it didn't take long for me to remember that so many pedophiles are going after their own children...and its a big problem in JA!
I really wish Queen Ifrica was on the soundtrack
