OUTRAGE BETWEEN GERMANY AND REGGAE ARTIST MR. VEGAS

What is reggae music really coming to? Tonight, Mr. Vegas is scheduled to perform in Berlin, Germany but the roads are beginning to look rocky.

With all of the controversy that the Dancehall industry has been facing, Germany now wants to hop on that bandwagon by monitoring all reggae music that is being played and performed throughout the country.

Mr. Vegas is outraged by this decision and verbalized his rage via Twitter saying:

"There's an attack against reggae music, now they want me to meet with the head of police in Germany to say I will not sing certain songs. They will also be sending their representative who speak Patois to the venue to hear if I am singing certain lyrics, so if I do not meet with the police chief, my show will be canceled.

What has reggae gone to? The bible said it best, whosoever does not take the mark of the beast 666 will not be able to work, nor buy, nor sell, lord your word is coming to pass.

These people are taking the artist and music for mockery. It doesn't matter if you sing about them or not, as long as you do reggae or Dancehall you have to meet with them.

We're now being mocked."
I feel like Vegas is right in a sense. People are really making a mockery out of Reggae/Dancehall music and that isn't fair to the hard working artists that do their best to contribute positivity to the culture. I feel like this is a form of social profiling which is illegal and unacceptable. If other musical genre's aren't subjected to this type of scrutiny why should our culture be?

I do think that SOME reggae artists need to watch their words because as you can see it is doing more harm than good. I can't totally blame Germany for enforcing these rules due to previous homosexual bashing from mainly reggae artists, but they're taking it too far when you actually have someone who speaks Patois monitoring every word that is spoken.

We need to stand up as a community and rally against this type of scrutiny. Our culture needs to be represented in the correct manner. We need to show strength and come together because a change needs to happen fast in efforts to save the declining reggae culture.

Supporters if you feel like your voice needs to be heard and would like to join in on trying to uplift reggae music, please contact Doms@TheWickedestTime.com and we will petition for what is right.
