Regardless of what anyone want to say, Lisa Hype is a FIGHTER! You see how much this little lady have to deal with just to find a career in the music business!

This is what it means to be passionate. Even at Sting the other day, when she started to hear the echoes of boo's you heard her voice cracking up like she wanted to cry.. but she didn't make that hold her back or hold her down.

The girl is strong!

Well, yesterday we saw the release about her being kicked out of Portmore Empire -- here is her response!

I've just been released from my contract with the Portmore Empire but even though I am no longer the first lady of the Gaza, mi still ah seh Gaza. Death before dishonor! Mi nuh haffi be a part of the Empire fi still seh Gaza.

LISA HYPE WAS KICKED OUT OF PORTMORE EMPIRE

WOW!! Looks like Addi di daddy chuck Lisa Hype into ah river an ah cross him finger.

Lisa HYPE.. I hope you can swim!!

This report was released today that little miss Lisa Hype was kicked out of the Portmore Empire, apparantly, she no longer fits into their goals for the new year!!!

"Lisa Hype is no longer a part of the Portmore Empire. The members of the Empire have unanimously agreed to end our professional relationship especially in light of certain 'developments' that have come to our attention regarding her overall conduct, conduct that is not consistent with the decorum expected of a member of the Portmore Empire.

She is an incredible artiste and we wish for her all the best in her future endeavors, but Lisa Hype will not play a future role in the Empire as she no longer fits in with our organizational goals as we move forward in 2010."

-- Adidja 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer

PLAYLIST: ASSASSIN - NOWADAYS BOOPSIE (BOOPS RIDDIM)

They complain so much about women who want the better things in life! Why?! I'm sorry, I can't apologize for that.

I just feel bad that the few men who actually have the money to dash and the champagne to splash come very few and far in between. That's the reason why they're usually surrounded by flocks of beautiful women...

And isn't that what men want... to be surrounded by flocks of beautiful women?? SO what you complaining about?!

FLIPPA MAFIA INJURED IN CAR ACCIDENT

Dancehall's very own Flossing King, Flippa Mafia got into a car accident after leaving the Sherlock All White Boat Ride Affair.

Well all know that he's the flossing king and always have a bottle in his hand so it must have been a drinking and driving thing.

Eyewitnesses stated that Flippa was driving down Hagley Park Road when his truck started to move out of control before hitting another truck and car and then slamming into a wall.

His truck seemed to face some hefty damages and Flippa Mafia was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but luckily, Flippa walked away with only a few minor bruises and injuries.

PLAYLIST: I OCTANE - BLOOD SHED (CHANGES RIDDIM)

I Octane was blessed with one of the most forwards at Sting 2009. Blazing torches, bullhorns, hands in the air, jump up and swear. The works!

I was looking forward to his performance and let me tell you how his performance hurt me the most!

I wanted to hear him actually perform a song, 'Bloodshed' in particular, but instead he kept letting the crowd sing the songs for him and I'm sorry but that doesn't equate to a performance. Then after a few minutes of that.. him run off the stage.

I had to turn around and ask people if him really done.

I OCTANE!! When people pay dem money dem expect to see a performance. Many other big name artists -- for example, Assassin -- WORKED for their money. They performed. They fought with the host for more time on the stage -- to please their fans!!!

I Octane -- even if you don't have a lot of time on stage, you nuh muss mek it worth it!! chuuppps!

But you know I still love his music... to hear more from I OCTANE, click here!!

BUJU HIRES THE BEST ATTORNEY MONEY CAN BUY

I'm happy to know that Buju is getting the best of the best to represent him in the court room. Attorney at law, David Oscar Markus will be leading the team to get Buju Banton off charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute over 5 kilograms of cocaine.

Attorney David Oscar Markus is a 36 year old graduate of Harvard Law School whose been involved in several high-profile cases. He was named on of the Top 40 Litigators under 40 years old in the United States from the National Law Review.

Since 2007, Markus has been known as one f the United States leading criminal defense lawyers. Among his clients were Gilberto and Miguel Rodriquez-Orejuela, brothers and alleged founders of the infamous Cali Cartel which operated a multibillion-dollar cocaine trade in Columbia during the 1970s and 1980s.

In February, he successfully represented Dr. Ali Shaygan who was charged with 141 counts of illegally selling pain medication. Shaygan was acquitted of all charges, and he and his lawyers awarded damages of US$600,000.

I'm excited to know that Buju found an attorney with such a great rep sheet!!

I wish them much luck with this case... they're moving in the right direction.

SHAGGY MAKES THE EFFORT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The World Acclaimed International Reggae Dancehall artist Shaggy pulled together with Jamaican corporate officials, other Jamaican artists, civilians, and his own personal foundation, "The Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation" to raise money in efforts to help out the Bustamante Hospital for Children.

This hospital is the only pediatric hospital in the English speaking Caribbean.

Shaggy reached out to corporate Jamaican and others who came together and held a big benefit concert for the hospital to raise awareness which was a huge success. Jamaican and international artists from all genres were brought together for this concert last year and have been continuously working together to continue to raise money for this project.

The Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation was able to raise and purchase over $20 million Jamaican dollars worth of equipment for the Bustamante Hospital for Children earlier this year. The funds were able to purchase an ENT (ear, nose, throat) microscope, Vital Signs Monitors, Volumetric Pumps, four stretchers and a Blood Warmer which was most necessary according to the Board of Bustamante Hospital for Children.

The Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation will continue to raise money throughout the year to contribute to the Bustamante Hospital for Children.

This is a great example of making a difference and spreading the holiday cheer. Happy Holidays to all fans and supporters!!

Please Note: The Concert Was Held Jan. 2009 But The Foundation Lives On!

BARBEE’S “FEEL SO GOOD” AWARDED VIDEO OF THE YEAR

In October Barbee, the reggae songstress released her video for the single, "Feels So Good", which was produced by Dean Fraser. The song has been doing well and steadily climbing the Jamaican charts holding the number on spot on the Hype TV Top Ten Chart. "Feel So Good" has also gotten rave reviews on social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace.

The video, which was directed by Ras Tingle, captured the essence of the song and showed Barbee and her dancers in many moods, varying from playfully sensuous to sophisticated.

Barbee was awarded Video Of The Year at the 'I'm A Star Music Awards Show' in Hartford, Connecticut.

Barbee was delighted to accept the award and started:

"I am so elated at the video's success and would like to thank everybody who worked with me -- especially my 'momager' -- to make this a reality," she said, smiling. "But this is just the beginning, there is a lot more to come." She added.

I know that this is just the beginning for Barbee and we will be seeing and hearing much more from her!

Thanks for the continued support!

AMERICAN AIRLINES FLIGHT TO JAMAICA CRASHED UPON LANDING

American Airlines flight 331 arrived in heavy rain. The flight departed from Miami, Florida and landed at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, JA.

Right after the passengers applauded for what they thought to be a safe landing the plane then skidded across the road and ended up on the beachfront.

Mr. Walker, head of TV Jamaica stated,
"Then there was a loud bang, that's when the passengers knew something was wrong, when oxygen masks deployed and also they noticed that the structure of the fuselage started to crumble. My information is that it's broken into three pieces."
The airline will not speculate on the cause of the crash but most believe it was because of the inclement weather, which caused the skidding upon landing.

Fortunately, no fatalities were caused by this accident but approximately 90 people suffered from minor injuries and was immediately sent to a nearby Kingston hospital for treatment.

THE RETURN OF SANCHEZ ON FEB 9TH WITH NEW ALBUM 'NOW AND FOREVER'

Sanchez is making a comeback!!

I know my mom is going to be very happy to hear this. Sanchez is most popularly known as the man who remade the most songs in reggae history, usually putting an island twist to it and pouring it out like hot butter -- making the ladies go wild. Let's see if he still got it!

'Now and Forever' features 15 new Sanchez tracks produced by Donovan Germain of Penthouse Recordings. This is by far Sanchez's best work to date. Along with delivering the sound that he is known for, the majority of this album contains original songs from Sanchez.

The first single from 'Now and Forever' is 'Longing to Come Home' on the Protect and Serve riddim, it is currently climbing the US world and reggae charts. 'Won't Surrender' touches on the controversial subject of infidelity and what an untrusting companion goes through in this situation.

On the song, 'What Do I Have To Say', Sanchez is trying to capture the attention of a woman that he is attracted to. 'Release The Property' is about the elusive quality that the one you're pursuing possesses. Sanchez goes on to explain the elements that draws him to a woman. The songs, 'Who Am I Without You', 'Extraordinary' and the title track 'Now and Forever' displays the loving and sensitivity that prove why Sanchez is one of the most beloved Lovers Rock Singers in Reggae Music.

Now And Forever is classic Sanchez.

EMT's LET PREGNANT WOMAN DIE WHILE ON BREAK

This girl looks so familiar to me, I don't recognize her name but she surely looks familiar. Either way, I hope that she rests in peace. This is a sad story.

25 year old Eutisha Rennix who was pregnant fell into a fatal seizure while at work at an Au Bon Pain in New York. During the seizure, he coworkers were frantic and trying their best to assist her when EMT workers came into the Au Bon Pain.

They thought that the arrival of the two EMT workers was a blessing and they begged them to assist Eutisha who was pregnant, gasping for air and turning blue but they nonchalantly replied that they need to call 911, because they were on break.

The manager then ran out of the shop to find help, an ambulance eventually arrived but by then it was too late. Eutisha was gone.

The Fire Department, which runs the city's Emergency Medical Service is now investigating the incident and has placed the two EMT's on paid but restricted duty, barred from providing patient care.

THE RECORDING ACADEMY SUPPORTS BUJU BANTONS GRAMMY NOMINATION

Right before Buju was arrested I was pissed off that the gay protestors were starting petitions and sending out letters to The Recording Academy with hopes that the Grammy's nomination board would denounce his nomination.

But thankfully, the Recording Academy responded to the protestors with this:

"The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Awards have a long history of supporting freedom of speech and creative expression, and of supporting artists and the music they create.

Artists of a variety of political or cultural perspectives have been nominated or featured on the telecast, despite protests and backlash. ... The GRAMMY Awards is a celebration and recognition of outstanding musical achievement by music makers, regardless of politics, and that will continue to be our mission."

STACIOUS WILL NOT FEED INTO THE LISA HYPE CONTROVERSY

Stacious recently released a statement saying that she will no longer make diss tracks towards Lisa Hype:

"This song will be the first and only time that I will address the Lisa
Hype issue. I absolutely refuse to engage in a senseless back and forth
war of words, which on her part consists of lies and lackluster insults.

Especially when her 'daddy' and my friend have decided to prove to the
world the great men they are and bury the hatchet. I have many songs that
I poured my heart into, which displays my lyrical prowess.

I will now turn my attention to promoting songs such as, 'Fight Back'
produced by Don Corleon and a number of other great tracks of which includes a
collabo with Mavado, produced by Stephen McGregor.

As I gear up for a hectic schedule throughout this season, my fans can
expect only the best from Stacious. I have invested years in this and live
and love good music, it's just a pity that the media prefers to hype controversy
over real authentic music.

My real fans that believe in me won't be disappointed, this whole drama is
just a mere stepping stone for the greater elevation and success that is
yet to come, so keep listening because good music will continue to flow."

Sounds like a new year, a new flair!! Get ready for 2010! 2009 is over so take what you need from it and leave what you don't.

2010 is about positive vibes!

LIVE AND DIRECT WITH VYBZ KARTEL

A lot of our favorite artists realize that it's not all about the music. Dancehall music has a glass ceiling that is very tough to penetrate so many use this as an opportunity to venture out on other businesses.

Spice owns a clothing store, Tanya Stephens have a bar in Ochie, Bling Dawg has a barber shop and the list goes on. So there is no reason why Buju should have been meddling in drugs, he could have built an enterprise to stimulate the economy, provided jobs on the island and who knows how far that ripple effect would have went. Instead, he wanted to deal with cocaine -- something that would further destroy the society. But Buju is innocent until proven guilty so let me stop bad mouth the man..

Here is an interview of Vybz Kartel and Dahved Levy, they talk about quite a few topics from Beenie Man and D'Angel's wedding, how the name GAZA was born, how he builds a vibe before he make a song, but my favorite is when they talk about Kartel owning his own rum factory to better distribute Vybz Rum. That is quite an accomplishment and from listening to the clip you can tell that this is something that Kartel is very very proud of.

UPDATES ON THE BUJU BANTON COCAINE CASE

Here are alleged play by play updates on the Buju Banton case..
---------
It was Tuesday afternoon when the silver Land Rover with the tag “Jah One” pulled up to La Tropicana de Havana restaurant in Sarasota, according to federal and local law enforcement agents who were staking out the restaurant.

Mark Anthony Myrie [Buju Banton], Ian Thomas and an unidentified woman got out of the SUV. They were there, authorities say, to purchase several kilos worth of cocaine.

The episode, they say, was recorded.

Inside the restaurant, Myrie and the woman met with a confidential source, according to a federal criminal complaint against Myrie, Thomas and Mack.

The confidential source told Myrie and the woman to go to another location – which turned out to be an undercover warehouse – to continue negotiations for a large amount of cocaine.

There they met with an undercover Sarasota police officer who showed Myrie and Thomas a specially equipped vehicle that contained 20 kilos of coke in hidden compartments.

Myrie and Thomas went over to the vehicle, pulled out a kilo and placed it on a table. Thomas pulled out a knife and cut open the package of cocaine.

He handed the knife to Myrie, who wiped his finger on the blade and put his finger in his mouth in what appeared to be an attempt to taste the drug.

Myrie and Thomas continued to negotiate with the confidential source until about 3 p.m., when the two men left the undercover warehouse.

The next day, Thomas called the confidential source, trying to purchase 15 kilos of cocaine.

They met at an Applebees restaurant in Sarasota, where Thomas told the source his organization wanted to purchase five kilos and, if there were no problems, would buy more cocaine later.

Thomas told the source another member of his drug organization was in the parking lot with about $125,000 in cash to buy the five kilos.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Thomas and the source left Applebees and met with James Mack, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of a Honda sedan parked in the lot. Thomas and the source went back into the restaurant and continued negotiating.

At about 10:30 a.m. Dec. 10, Thomas and Mack drove to the undercover warehouse, where an undercover Sarasota officer saw Mack pull large amounts of cash from a hidden compartment in the rear driver’s side of his Honda. After looking over the money, the undercover police officer gave a bag containing seven kilos of cocaine to Thomas and Mack.

As the men inspected the drugs, the undercover gave a signal and agents arrested Thomas and Mack.

Myrie … was arrested in Miami.

All three men are charged with conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute. Mack and Thomas are being held in the Pinellas County jail with no bond set.

Myrie is being held in Miami with no bond set and is scheduled to have a first appearance in Miami later this week according to Steve Cole, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Tampa.

There may be more arrests to come, according to Sarasota Police Lt. Wade McVay.
“We are still investigating,” said McVay. “The investigation extends to a lot of places. This is right out of a movie script.”

VYBZ KARTEL PULLS A "NO SHOW" IN GUYANA

The most talked about show, "Keep The Peace" was scheduled to take place at the National Park in Guyana yesterday but was canceled due to Kartel's failure to show.

Conscious Minds Promotions who promoted the whole event made an apologetic announcement in a press conference a few hours before the show was schedule to begin starting.

"As we express appreciation for the support we have received from our sponsors
and fans, we the management of Conscious Minds Promotions regret to announce
that the Vybz Kartel Keep The Peace concert scheduled for today ... has been
cancelled."
It was reported that several members of the Portmore Empire were already in the country and like many other supporters anxiously waiting on the arrival of Kartel.

In the press release, it stated that all fans and supporters who bought tickets for the show will be refunded the full price of the ticket beginning Tuesday at all ticket locations.

"We again express our deep regret at the disappointment that our supporters must feel and pledge that we will make good with other promotions." The promotional team has yet to give a valid reason why the show was canceled.

This past Thursday, The Ministry of Education ostracized Kartel saying they will not support a "Keep The Peace" campaign supporting the artist. The ministry spoke of reaffirming its commitment to molding the minds of young people in a statement released on the event, adding that part of its mandate is to promote wholesome and healthy lifestyle choices.

Recently, Kartel and his lyrical rival Mavado shook hands, made peace, and made a pact to continue to keep the peace due to the Gully/Gaza feud that began to breed and attribute negativity and violence into communities.

This is really not a good look and I hope that this situation can be rectified immediately. We will continue to keep you updated.

The 36 year old Grammy nominated, Buju Banton, who is also known as Mark Anthony Myrie has been held in Miami Florida Federal Detention Center due to his arrest last Thursday on drug related charges. This rumor was confirmed by the Miami Police Department spokesperson on Decemeber 12.

but yes, he is here facing a charge of possession and the intent to distribute
cocaine." Officer Gonzalez stated.

Gonzalez also stated that further details of the arrest will be disclosed at a later time. When asked if bail will be offered for Myrie, he stated, "I am not able to disclose any further information, further details will be released at a later time."

Even though Gonzalez was careful not to give too much information regarding Myrie and the charges, he confirmed that Myrie and another person were arrested. According to our sources it is alleged that Myrie and another man were caught on surveillance.

JOVI ROCKWELL: NEW AND UPCOMING STAR

When we really speak about a multi talented female artist we define Jovi Rockwell, she is blessed to have the talent to rock any crowd. Rockwell was born in Jamaica and at the age of 16 migrated t Miami. She sings, deejays, raps and spends a bulk of her time working between Florida and then going back to Jamaica, her birth place to work as well.

Rockwell has a new mixtape out called Psycho Therapy. I got a change to listen to the songs and I really feel that its going to be a chart topper. When Rockwell sings, you can hear the versatility which is hard to come across. her style can be best described as eccentric and definitely out the box.

When asked to describe herself in three words, Rockwell said, "I'm a rebel at heard, a lover, no doubt and I believe every woman is a goddess, so I call myself The Rebel. Love. Goddess."

Rockwell also stated, "Music is music and I represent a culture, not a specific area. The only time you belong in a box is when your dead."

I know for sure that Rockwell isn't a one hit wonder. She seems to be well rounded and multifaceted.
