I just don't like how they're treating Buju in prison. Yeah I know prison was never known for the lap of luxury lifestyle.. but he didn't even go to trial yet! They've been holding him for the past three months and he's already lost 40 lbs.
The man was already slim.. so where he found 40lbs to lose is still a mystery to me.
The lawyers representing Buju has made a bail request on his behalf claiming that Buju is not being provided with a diet in accordance with his religious views.
Although they doubt that he will be granted bail.. they hope that he would at least be moved to a non maximum security unit. But wait a minute, why is he in a maximum security unit in the first place?? This isn't even a murder case!
They got no love for the rasta man.
According to Buju's lawyer, he was able to make appropriate meals in the kitchen with food he purchased from the commissary but no longer has that ability since they moved him to the maximum security wing. Not to mention the living quarters in the kitchen is unsanitary and the showers don't work.
They say that Buju is being subjected to inhumane conditions and was moved into maximum security because last week he was sharing food with another inmate.
Another claim is that these new extreme conditions is affecting him mentally and physically and affecting his ability to prepare for trial which is expected to begin in about 3 weeks.
Hush Buju.. just tell them again.. you have an optimistic soul. Dem ah try beat yuh down.. but it naaaah go work!

Last time I checked, prison wasn't supposed to be a picnic in the park. Let him bawl if he's guilty.
i hear you.. but they don't even know if he guilty or not.
What happen to innocent until proven guilty??
I think its wrong that they're even holding him for so long. Much less maximum security..
40lbs in 3mos??
And even if he is guilty.. that's how they're suppose to treat ppl on drug charges??
Well to be perfectly honest I'm not really following the story so I didn't know they haven't proven anything yet. I've never been a Buju fan so I don't follow too close.
Buju shouldn't have even showed up to that babylonian meeting, but it was definitely entrapment. The heathens are definitely trying to bury Buju. Not even granting him bail??? Filthy scum. Yeah prison isn't supposed to be a picnic, but this treatment is inhumane. No matter what they do to Buju, their filthiness will not be washed away. We all know why Mr. Myrie is being treated unfairly and it isn't because he made the mistake of listening to some informer.
i think they're treating him unfairly but i dont disagree with the bail.
i think his work visa was revoked or expired or something like that so he can't just roam around the US until his trial.. and they will never just let him go back to Jamaica until his trial date, you know how they feel about flight risk.
so they don't really have much of a choice but to hold him.. but they don't need to treat him like a common criminal either.
