MONA VERSUS MAVADO (ROUND #1)

I have a bone to pick with Mr. Mavado!

Do you know that song by him entitled "House Cleaning?" Well, I know it and I know it well and as much as I love the riddim and Mavado's delivery.. I cannot support the song. I have felt a way about the song since I first heard it, but I wasn't going to say anything and keep my little opinion to myself...

That was until..

I was in the club this past weekend and the DJ played the song, not before he had to add his introduction subscribing to the foolishness. God knows I wanted to slap all the little fools that raised dem gun finger to "You must be dreaming.. Badman don't do no house cleaning!"

WTF?!

There are just so many things wrong with that sentence that I just do not know where to begin.

Men, you live, eat and shit like everyone else so why can't you do some house cleaning? Mavado must be out his mind to think that I'm going to be working, cooking, cleaning, fucking and breeding just for him to feel like "BADMAN!"

Why does a woman have to have her man "programed like a chip to clean the bathroom and wash the toilet?" Everybody isn't Mavado so I suggest you not walk around thinking that you can do what Mavado does.

"Not pon Mona team! Not inna my regime! Not inna Mavado dreams.."

On top of that he has the nerve to say that "Gyal coulda pretty like Ashanti, it's against the law fi wash panty!"

First of all, I don't need any man to wash my underwear but so what if I did... its a problem? It just boggles my mind that men don't have a problem taking off the panties when it's time to do the do; as a matter of fact some of them take the panties off with their teeth!!

However, as soon as the panties touch the ground they suddently are diseased and infected and can't be touched by 'badman' hands!

I understand what Mavado was trying to say. Don't let any woman walk all over you, I hear him loud and clear. That doesn't mean that you can't clean up behind yourself. So, my advice to you men, if you want a happy wife and an equally happy home, you better pick up a broom and mop and do what your mama taught you!

Simoe, I uderstand where're coming from but it's just a song. I love the song, eventhough its against men doing house work, as always men will be men.

I can't get my significant other to do ish in our home, it's like pulling teeth when it comes to him helping out. They can put up the toilet seat when they want to pee but they can't put it back down. MEN!!

Anonymous you are very right, it is just a song.

I couldn't get my man to clean for a long time but he eventually wised up and did what was good for him, me and the household...

But, like you said Men will be MEN!
