What a wonderful day it was when my mom took me to the movie theater to see "Dancehall Queen".. not to mention the TURNOUT!!
Jamaicans EVERYWHERE, with smiles on their faces, pride in their eyes and nothing but authentic support coming out of their wallets.
Oooh I miss those days..
At the time, I didn't even realize that movies like this didn't really make it to major movie theaters so this was actually a treat that should be savored.
Now fast forward to 2010 where we're left with low quality bootleg DVDs which ends up being nothing more than charity work for the directors, producers and actors involved all stringing along to a hope and a dream.
But dis one look like it can gwaan still..
