Shabba!

Here we go, back again talking about the shine eye girls, the red eye girls, the groupies and the gold diggers. They love to love 'em, yet they love to hate 'em.

Regardless, I must say that I love this song! I like Mykal Rose's version much better than the original and Shabba as we all know is one of the best!! Even today he is STILL performing to sold out crowds!!

PLAYLIST: QUEEN IFRICA - DON'T SIGN (MOVIE STAR RIDDIM)

I really wish I was able to find the lyrics to this one because I want everyone to read, know and understand exactly what this song is about.

There are so many young, new, upcoming artists who are taken advantage of in the music industry. Not just dancehall, not just reggae but every genre in the catalogue, from rock and roll to pop to country to r&b.

As you know, Queen Ifrica is valuable because she makes music with a message, with this one being, DON'T SIGN!

Take a moment, check with a lawyer, and READ THE FINE PRINT when dealing with any type of contract.

Like Dennis Brown said, 'Wolves and Leopards are trying to kill the sheep and the shepherd.' So be careful!

I wonder if Gaza Kim read before she signed..

PLAYLIST: WYCLEF AND MAVADO - HOLD ON [OFFICIAL VID]

This video by Wyclef and Mavado is a tribute to Haiti during these difficult times. And another opportunity for Mavado to make an impact on the mainstream market. This video has already been featured on BET with expectations to conquer other major networks.

Let's see how far this one will take him!

THE INCOME AND BUYING POWER OF BLACK AMERICANS IS ON A STEADY INCREASE

We moving on UP, to the East Side!! We finally got a piece of the pie!

It really did take a whole lot of trying just to get up that hill.. but we're there baby!!

Now, I can't act like I'm exactly where I want to be right now, but I'm getting there and it's all about progress. Everybody plays their little part.

According to Black America Web, there was a recent survey that proved that the income amongst Black Americans and the buying power of Black Americans is on a steady increase.

The survey says that the black buying power is estimated now at about $913 billion and is projected to increase to approximately $1.2 trillion by 2013.

Although business professor, Boyce Watkins is not surprised at the increase, he states, "Unfortunately, when African Americans make money, we spend it. We don't use it to invest or produce. When we get our tax refund, we go straight to the store."

It's true.. but its been a long time coming!! When I get money I gotta make up for lost time!

The reason behind the increase??

The fact that blacks are getting more education and better access to higher salaries is boosting buying power. The percentage of blacks who've completed high school or college increased from 66.2 percent in 1990 to 83 percent in 2008 according to Census data.

Another great perk is that the people who market major consumer products are starting to align their strategies with the multicultural majority emerging in the US. Some have already indicated that multicultural consumers have become their core focus as they strategize and set their sights on the next 10 years!!

Good job Black America!

PLAYLIST: VYBRANT - EARS HARD [OFFICIAL VID]

It's true, some people EARS HARD yuh see!!

But at the end of the day, you gotta let people learn from their own mistakes. It is difficult to watch someone that you know and love walk right into a stupid situation.. but it's not your life to live.

Sometimes, you just have to 'low people!

GAZA KIM WITHDRAWS FROM THE PORTMORE EMPIRE BECAUSE OF RECENT BEAT DOWN

In Photo (left to right): Shebba, Gaza Kim, Lisa Hype, Indu - Once Known As Gaza Princessess

Poor Kimmy, Kim, Kim..

Because of all of the recent controversy Kim Hamilton, once known as Gaza Kim have decided to humbly withdraw her affiliation with the Portmore Empire and has changed her name to KYM.

KYM was keeping company with men who talked about Adidja di Teacha in an unfavorable manner which ultimately led to her beat down by men who is known to carry out Kartel's wishes.

When her brother attempted to defend her, he too became a victim of the beat down.

"I will like to make it known that upon legal advise I can hereby state that I, Gaza Kim aka Kim Hamilton seeks to inform the public that I will be moving on with my music career under the name 'KYM'. Due to speculations about whether or not I'm apart of the popular crew adn no official statement from the management team to detest those speculations, I hereby humbly and proudly withdraw myself.

I must thank all the members of the Portmore Empire and specifically Adidja Palmer for his professional advise over the past 8-9 months. I look forward to working with professionals in the music fraternity. I've released a new song titled, 'Leave Me Nuh' which will be aired over the radio and otherwise. You can comment or see my updates on facebook."
I agree that she made a good decision so the real question is, without the backing of her popular Gaza crew, will she sink or swim??

Indu and Shebba better run out from now, you don't need a black eye to prove that you're in a bad neighborhood!

PLAYLIST: COLLIE BUDDZ - PHONE CALL

You know, I don't think Collie Buddz get enough recognition..

I didn't even know how great of an artist he was until I had a copy of his album and realized that this man DESERVES my money.

And you know by now the CD is lost somewhere and even if I found it, it would be full of scratches.. but I'm gonna buy myself another copy!

It was one of those CDs where EVERY song can potentially be a single.. Either way, with his latest release, 'Phone Call' I see that he still got it!!

Collie Buddz, I'm a fan!

GROWN MAN BUSTED FOR SELLING 13 YO NIECE INTO PROSTITUTION [LIVE FOOTAGE]

PLAYLIST: MR LEXX - WALK OUT (CHINEY FLAVA RIDDIM)

This is my favorite 'Walk Out' song!!

Why?? Because mi know seh mi cyan walk out!! Call me Ms. Hollywood..

"THESE NOW A DAY ARTISTS THAT SAY THEY RUNNING THE PLACE IS A BUNCH OF WASTE OF TIME" - MR. VEGAS

Mr. Vegas never fails to speak his mind, some may consider it commendable while others call it offensive but one things for sure, if Mr. Vegas have something on his mind.. he's sure to let it out!

I can never be upset with that! You're opinion counts just as much as the next mans.

I know that not everything I say is coated with sugar but thats because some things need come out raw for you to get your point across!

"I have been to a few shows over the holidays and I realize that these 'now a day' artists that say they running the place is a bunch of waste of time and peoples money. If you take away the war from these artist them nuh good, not even near good. If they not throwing words at each other on stage they can't entertain a crowd for 15 minutes, I am back stage like, what the fu.k is that?

What has music gone to?

Trust me, after the MC call these now a days artist name and the crowd roar and they run out with the first two songs that's it. Everything is a sleep walk to the end of the performance, they do not have what it takes to hold a crowd attention, them performance lame as a duck.

I remember when I was growing up and if you get a chance to see a show live or a video of the show, Tiger, Admiral Bailey, Stitchie, Papa San, then to Ninja, Shabba, Buju, & Beenie (before him start gi weh him ting and forgot he is the king), had the crowd eating out of their hands. From start to finish, all when they come off, people asking for more, now the people dem just stand up a look like, did I pay for this shit?

Without the auto tune weh them use inna the studio fi mek the song sound decent them artist yah sound like shit mi nah lie. The one Good new talent that is out there I-Octane the radio and selector not looking at him, they only waan be apart of Gaza/Gully.

Now to the female artist them, my Gooood what a tragedy they caan stay out after 5:30 cause the rubbish truck comes around that time. I don't understand how they got into music. I was at teen splash back stage and I swear them look like market woman and their voice is a whole different story. The crowd sing them song better than them, they have no key, no idea, nothing, I want to vomit.

People of Jamaica need to do better cause I know they know better music. They use to run people off stage with this shit."

Woof!!

BUJU'S DEFENSE TEAM CLAIMS HE WAS PRESSURED BY A PROFESSIONAL INFORMER

Finally!!

An update on the Buju case! I've been on the lookout for this. How're they treating you over there Bujie B?? I hope you're alright.. we're still on your side, no worries!!

According to court papers that was issued in Tampa, Buju's defense team may use entrapment as their shield.

If the undercover confidential source wasn't pressuring him join him in the cocaine deal, he would have never been there.

According to Buju, he met the professional informer back in July of 2009 and for months he insisted that Buju join him on the little adventure.

Buju!! Although everyone is entitled to make their own stupid mistakes.. REALLY?? You let some fool that you just met pressure you into being involved in a $125,000 drug deal? That don't sound suspicious to you?

"During the long international flight [from Madrid] to miami, the confidential source, after softening up Mr. Myrie with small talk, began discussing cocaine. Throughout the flight, the [informer] tried to interest [Buju] in buying cocaine. [Buju], however, was not interested."

They even say that some of the conversations were recorded and proves that Buju made multiple attempts to put off the informer and conversations regarding cocaine.

But I feel like if you're not interested, then ignore his phone calls! You and him turn best friend??

"Finally, on Dec. 8th, 2009, the [informer] was successful in convincing [Buju] to meet with him. Just to make sure [Buju] attended, at 12:50pm, the [informer] called [Buju], however the tape of the call reflects [Buju] did not want to meet. Nonetheless, according to the complaint, [Buju] attended the meeting at 2:29pm at an 'undercover warehouse'. At this preliminary meeting, the [informer] showed [Buju] and a co-defendant a brick of cocaine. [Buju] then went back to Miami."

Two other co-defendants went along to meet with the informer where they were immediately arrested.

You know what?? This should be a simple case to fight so why are they making it so difficult? Okay, so he THOUGHT about committing a crime.. but then thought against it because common sense kicked in or he had a gut feeling. Whatever the reason, he didn't commit the crime. Not to mention they have audio recordings proving that he didn't want to be a part of the foolishness to begin with. At one point, he let his curiousity take over him so he met up at the warehouse... and clearly was uninterested so he left the scene.

You know how much time I think about crime!?! How much people I wanna send on a kuff kaff kweff to??

If only I knew how to hack into people's bank account. I would directly withdraw 5 cents from every person on this planet and send it STRAIGHT to my account!

But you know, I'm an upstanding citizen! And just because I THINK about it don't mean I'm a criminal!

When they let Buju free, can he sue for injustice? Waste of time? Loss of the income he would have been making if he was out of jail and in the studio or on a stage??

DONATING TO HAITI? TIPS ON HOW NOT TO GET PLAYED

GUEST POST from Kari Fulton

Last Tuesday, January 12, 2010 a category 7 earthquake hit Haiti near the capitol city of Port-au-Prince. The number of casualties is still rolling in but the estimated toll is in between the hundreds of thousands.

Celebrities and politicians have joined every day people in doing what they can to support recovery efforts in Haiti. Unfortunately only a week after the earthquake hit, reporters are throwing allegations of fraud and mismanagement of funds but charitable organizations.

Fortunately, CheckTheWeather.net did a fair share of research to offer the best tips for making a charitable donation and truly supporting the people of Haiti and the city of Port-au-Prince.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU SEND ANOTHER TEXT MESSAGE OR ATTEND ANOTHER HAITI BENEFIT CONCERT!

Tip #1:
Make a clear statement, "Send my money to Haiti".

When writing a check or making an online donation to a large multi-national charity, like the Red Cross, make sure to clarify the intended program or cause the donation is intended to support. Sometimes large organizations with multiple projects will combine all of their donations and spread funds throughout several programs. That means the $10 text message donation to Red Cross may not make it to Haiti at all and instead go to support building sewer systems in Kazikstan.

Tip #2:
Speaking of text message donations...
They may not be as great as some people think.

This past Friday, the New York Times reported that Sprint and Verizon are the only wireless service providers offering to speed up the process of getting funds from text message donations to Haiti. Otherwise, companies must wait for customers to pay their phone bill before proceeds reach the charity of choice. In some cases, this delay could take 30 to 90 days to process.

To avoid life changing delays with charitable donations avoid texting your donation and give it directly to an organization through their official website or mailing address.

Tip #3:

Party for the cause, but with caution.

Everyday another artist comes out and says they are doing a benefit show for recovery in Haiti. Sounds good but what percentage of that concert ticket actually goes to those in need? Depending on the venue and the promotions company, an artist may need to pay a fee to hold the event and to promote though advertisement and flyer distribution. If it was not the idea of the artist but of a charity or non-profit the organization may have to come out of pocket to pay for lodging, travel, and fees for the artist and the band/DJ. After the artist, don't forget the charge for security at the event, the cost of gas/train/cab fare to get to the venue adn the cost of the brand new outfit for the show.

Once the extra expenses are tallied, there may end up being less than 50 percent of the proceeds that go directly to the charitable organization.

It is also best to attend benefit concerts that are endorsed by the actual non-profit. That usually means there is a much higher chance of the funds getting to the non-profit quickly and efficiently.

If there is not a relationship between the entertainer and the organization. Look on programs, flyers and event websites to find documentation of the organization that the benefit intends to support and the percentage of proceeds the event plans to donate.

Tip #4:

Research charities with a fine tooth comb.

Visit the official website of any charity before making a donation. Sounds like common sense however, after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, phony websites popped up saying they were donating proceeds to the Red Cross when they were actually sending money to the personal bank accounts of con-artists. NPR reports that an estimated $300,000 to $400,000 dollars in donations to the American Red Cross were lost due to charity scams.

Tip #5:

Find out how they plan on spending donations.

When visiting a charity's official website, find out what other programs they work on and how they intend to spend the money you donate. CharityNavigator.org states that it is best to give to organizations that have previous experience working in Port-au-Prince and during natural disasters.

Check the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Bureau of Investigations to make sure the organization follows the Standards of Charitable Accountability. These standards were compiled by a host of small and large charities, government agencies and consumers to promote full disclosure of how organizations spend money and support diversity and healthy business practices. Researching an organization's Standards of Charitable Accountability may take longer than five minutes, but it is definitely a good idea if you plan on donating more than $25.

Tip #6

Make sure a donation is tax deductible.

While it may sound a bit heartless now to think about tax benefits of your donations, it won't sound so crazy come next year's tax season. Donations to 501(c)(3) non-profits like Yele Haiti Foundation, Red Cross and AmeriCares are considered tax-deductible. However, donations to foreign governments (this includes the clothing drive at the Haitian Embassy) are not.

Follow these tips and save the heartache and financial blow of being scammed while trying to do good. For more tips and to review various non-profits and charities, visit on of the sites below:

GAZA KIM SUFFERED THROUGH MALICIOUS BEAT DOWN

Gaza Kim recently released a statement confirming rumors of a recent assault. She gave very little details about the who, the what, and the where but you already know what I'm thinking!!!

Check out the statement below...

I will like to make it known that I've heard rumors about an incident that occurred over the weekend.

I, Kim Hamilton aka Gaza Kim will like to make it publicly known that I was indeed assaulted over the weekend. I've visited the doctor... I'm still traumatized but recuperating through my ordeal.

I've taken the necessary actions to correct the wrong that was done against me and legal advice has been sought out.

I ask my fans, family and friends to not only sympathize but empathize with me in my time of need. Future comments will be made through my publicist and legal team.

This statement is an official statement made available through my publicist and other media broadcasts will be coordinated at a later date by my representatives.

Signed,
Kim Hamilton

It looks like you MUST get one good beat down to be a part of the Portmore Empire... I guess its initiation!!

PLAYLIST: BUSY SIGNAL - NIGHT SHIFT / ONE MORE NIGHT [OFFICIAL VID]

I've been waiting for this for a while!

I love Busy Signal videos! Whoever is the creative director behind it is just great, the videographer, cinematographer, all of them.. just GREAT!

I appreciate the smooth transition between the two songs. And Busy, I'm just glad you didn't have no weird man dancing around in the video because thats all we really needed to confirm the 'GARY' theory.

For more from BUSY SIGNAL, click here!!

PLAYLIST: AIDONIA AND AISHA DAVIS - HEART IS HERS

It's about time for Aidonia to release a mixtape..

Yup, I'm ready for it! I heard that once you throw your thoughts out into the universe, things just happen. So yeah, Aidonia, go ahead and make my nights complete!! I'm ready for a mixtape!

I fell in love with this song a few months ago when it was leaked as 'Close Your Eyes', clearly I was out of the loop because I didn't know it was a leaked track until yesterday.

I've gotten so use to listening that version that it's gonna take me a minute to re-adjust to this one. But I love it all the same!

It looks like daggaring season DONE! Time for the slow wine...

If you rate AIDONIA, click here!!

PLAYLIST: HIGHER TONE - MORE (KARMA RIDDIM)

I never heard of Higher Tone before now, but from hearing this single, it makes me want more and more and it sounds like MORE is exactly what he's offering!!

I can really get use to him so I truly hope he's here to stay.

THE PREGNANCY PACT: KIDS HAVING KIDS

So, I watched The Pregnancy Pact on Lifetime yesterday, well, maybe not the whole thing.. but I got the gist of it.

If you could ever sit down and wonder why kids are having kids, trust me, the answer is simple. It's because girls are stupid, and let me add that stupid girls annoy the hell out of me.

Yes, I know girls (for the most part) are book smart, they usually know how to play at least one instrument, and they know their way around the kitchen. But as far as men is concerned -- they're retarded!

I'm talking like I'm not a girl. But I like to think that I'm not a stupid one.

I was having a conversation the other day with one of my friends and we spoke about nasty men who don't like using condoms. Do you know that between the two of us, every single man that we've slept with made attempts to have sex with us without a condom.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!

Men, you can talk all you want about how it feels better. Ohhh juicy, juicy! But really, thats disgusting. And some of them have the nerve to say, 'Ohh, I'll pull out!' Really? For me? How sweet!

If you think I'm worried about the baby, you got me twisted. With all the options like the morning after pill, abortion clinics and whatever else they got going on these days.. as far as I'm concerned, I have options.

I'm worried about far more important things. The things that most people think about the next day when they're no longer high off of lust, drugs and/or alcohol.

What I'm worried about is the things I CAN'T get rid of if I decide it just ain't for me.. things like AIDS.. things like HERPES!!

And if you're so quick to wanna dig up in me without a condom what kind of scandalous activities were you into before I met you???

But some girls put men first, before their health, before their body (which is supposed to be their temple if I remember correctly!!) What happened to those commercials?? "My body is my temple.."

That's why diseases are spreading like wildfire.. but lucky for some, they get a baby instead.

Parents really need to start informing their stupid daughters and their nasty sons that if they're gonna have sex.. which they're gonna do regardless if you want them to or not TO USE A CONDOM!

A condom is a necessity, not an option. And if your nasty boyfriend starts whining and acting up because he likes it bare back, tell him its either a condom or no punny at all!

See which one he chooses.

For a matter of fact, how does he know he likes it raw?? Cause he tried it before!! No telling how many times, with how many different people! And I say people because you don't even know if he's borderline!

I mean, really, what are your options.. an STD (which fucks up your body!), an abortion (which fucks up your body!), a baby (which fucks up your body!) versus some good, wholesome, come back for more -- SEX!

Less drama, more fun!

I don't gamble with my money so I damn sure won't gamble with my life!

PLAYLIST: SHELLY THUNDER - KUFF

Right now, I'm thinking about a man that I want to punch in the THROAT!

What Mavado said?? 'SHE BEAT HIM!' - Ah muss me him ah talk! Seriously, it's not healthy to think the thoughts that are going through my mind right now.

Sorry Mavado, but sometime a man fi get kuff, fi get kuff, fi get bloodclaaaat kuff!

Dammit!! Where did I put my brass knuckles??

PLAYLIST: ELEPHANT MAN - NAH GUH MAKE IT

Yes, Ele!

Badmind and grudgeful nah guh make it!

Or at least thats what we like to think.. but honestly.. the good guys finish last. Don't make them fool you!

But Karma is a BITCH so I advise you to continue on the path less traveled, the one filled with positivity and good will. It's definitely worth it.

People filled with malice and bitterness may rise quick... but they fall quick too!

STACIOUS LOSES CELL PHONE TO BICYCLE BURGLAR

Last night while driving, a man on a bicycle reached into the gangstress, Stacious, car and stole her cell phone!

Is that how they carry on in Jamaica these days??

Stacious attempted to weave through traffic to catch the burglar but he seemed to be a professional as he maneuvered his way through oncoming cars.

Having a cell phone stolen is a simple matter because we've all had our phones lost or stolen at some time in the past but think about the contacts she must have in her phone..

I wonder if she have any interesting pictures that will soon turn up for public viewing??

I wonder what kind of pictures YOU may have in your phone that you don't want people to see.. I recommend you delete them now!

PLAYLIST: MR EASY AND CHRIS MARTIN - PARTY TIME (MAAD A ROAD RIDDIM)

Last week when I made it to NEW JERSEY to see Tanya Stephens & Mr. Easy in concert, Mr. Easy gave us a promo CD with a few of his new hits, the instant I heard this one I FELL IN LOVE!

It's Mr. Easy featuring Chris Martin and the combination is like a firecracker!! All they want is to go out and have a good time.. and seeing how today is FRIDAY -- I'm gonna do just that!

Happy Friday folks! Be safe out there!!

PLAYLIST: FREDDIE MCGREGOR - PUSH COME TO SHOVE

Freddie!

I see you and the rest of the family is taking over! Ready to conquer!!

This music give me feel good vibes, I can't imagine going to a stage show without hearing classics like this. Regardless if Freddie Mcgregor is there to perform it or not. They have to either play the track or SOMEBODY has to cover it.

Stage shows just ain't complete without it!

PLAYLIST: VYBZ KARTEL - NEVER (BUS PARK RIDDIM)

Put you left hand inna di air, put yuh right pon yuh HEART and seh, 'Never fuck a batty from me born!'

This man is funny!

PLAYLIST: VARIOUS ARTISTS - PARTY CUP MEDLEY

Party, party, party, let's all get wasted!

This looks like a really fun house party -- I would have been offended if I wasn't invited!

The only artist I know from this entire video is Ding Dong.. but I like them all!!

I'm not even gonna call them 'up and coming' until I hear at least 2 more songs from each of them. But like I said, they sound good!

Peep Ding Dong with his million dollar smile.. I'm not surprised to see this video from him because we already know that Ding Dong is a liquor head -- you will never find him without his party cup!

But this video MUST take off because its all about having a good time.

PLAYLIST: FRANKIE PAUL, SUPER CAT, HEAVY D - BIG AND READY

Tell me, who Don Dada, who run tings??

If you really wanna know, FRANKIE PAUL run tings!!!

He is one of reggae's favorite artists and better known as Jamaica's Stevie Wonder because he was born blind but used his talent to push himself towards success.

Ahh man, this song brings back happy memories!!

LIVE AND DIRECT WITH JOP LEADER AIDONIA

Aidonia has this appeal about him. He has.. hmmm.. Je ne sais quoi!!

His music does it for me, the man has lyrics for days, and I even love the sound effects he makes -- even if it is gun shots!!

I like how he stays away from the limelight and just allow his talent to hype itself. When you have true talent, it needs no hype. He doesn't need to learn to dance to entertain his crowd and he doesn't need to throw money at the audience to catch your attention.

Yeah, I have NOTHING but good things to say about him.

Check out this interview and to hear more of his music, CLICK HERE!!

PLAYLIST: CHRIS MARTIN, ASSASSIN AND D MAJOR - REAL FRIENDS [OFFICIAL VID]

Real talk, one of the greatest feelings is knowing - no second guessing, no iffy, maybe, probably - but hands down KNOWING that you are surrounded by REAL FRIENDS!

You know how they say, 'the grass is greener on the other side.' FUCK THAT!

Nope, nope, nope!! I appreciate the grass right over here! I have some of the coolest, flyest and REALEST batch of people in my life. They fill my life with LOVE and SUPPORT - morning, noon and night.

Some of them don't even like reggae but still pass through the site just to support and check up on my progress. I got nutt'n but LOVE for ya!!

This one is dedicated to MY real friends. You already know who you are.

I love you guys. Thanks for EVERYTHING!!

PLAYLIST: TARRUS RILEY AND BUGLE - LOVE REIGN [OFFICIAL VID]

I've been feeling this song for a while but I didn't know that a video was released for it. This one slipped in between the cracks!!

You just can't go wrong with Tarrus Riley! He needs some official nominations and some real awards. Don't worry Tarrus -- keep up the incredible work.. there is a Grammy in your future!

NEW JERSEY IS THE 14TH US STATE TO LEGALIZE MEDICINAL MARIJUANA

Yeaaah buddy!!

Things are starting to look up! You know, me and a few of my friends - Bob and Peter, all agreed that if you guys legalize it, we would advertise it. Why did it take so long for you guys to take us up on our offer??

That's besides the point.

I don't quite know the details of this new law, but it pleases me to know that it will be harder to incarcerate marijuana users. Half of black america is in jail for possession! I'm sure between this new law and a decent lawyer, things will change for the better.

As far as your local weed man... doubt it. But we're steadily moving in the right direction. That's what I like to see. PROGRESS!

But don't get it twisted -- we're talking about MEDICINAL marijuana so you do need some sort of prescription and/or ID Card stating that you require marijuana, but come on, find a loophole!

Medicinal Marijuana is legal in the following states: Alaska, Washington, New Jersey, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Nevada, Montana, Rhode Island, Vermont, Oregon, and New Mexico.

EVENT COVERAGE: TANYA STEPHENS AND MR. EASY @ CLUB ECLIPSE - JAN 14TH

If you know anything about me, you know that Tanya Stephens is my GIRL!! So when I heard that she was performing only a few hours away I knew I had to work something out and make the necessary arrangements to be there.

I don't hear about Tanya Stephens performing too often -- so it's now or, not necessarily never, but not for a LONG time.

So yes, I hopped on the good ole China Bus -- TANYA! I'm on my way!

Twin Tower Promotions hosted this event and featured a local New Jersey artist by the name of Fire B. along with Mr. Easy and of course, the main attraction, Tanya Stephens.

When I got to Club Eclipse, it was about 1:30am and the first thing I usually notice is the crowd -- which wasn't as thick as I was expecting it to be. What's going on people?! This is TANYA STEPHENS we're talking about!!

Well to make up for the slim crowd was the fact that I was surrounded by an attractive crowd. The girls were glamorous and the fellas were handsome. They're were quite a few fellas in the building that I was licking my lips for. I even pinched a guys butt! LOL. Yeah, I'm silly.

As the night progressed more people trickled into the club and when the performances started the crowd migrated towards the front.

The first to perform was Fire B who did his part to warm up the audience. He's a culture artist representing Newark, NJ -- his performance was pretty cool, he has a song on the PASSION RIDDIM that I was definitely feeling, rasta man mash up the passion riddim, but as you know -- opening acts stage time is limited. Which I'm okay with, we came here for a purpose. TANYA!

Next up was the SEXY Mr. Easy!

Mr. Easy is a very handsome man. But yes.. moving on. The crowd seemed happy to have him New Jersey. He gave us a really good performance and even came off stage to serenade the ladies who secured their spot, front row center. He also reminded us that he has REAL talent.

"No need for autotune cause bad man nuh hide from music!!"

He even sang a few of his hits in A Cappella to prove his point!!

But once his time was up.. TANYA STEPHENS came to CONQUER NEW JERSEY! Yuh hear me?!

Since there isn't too many females in the industry, I'm so use to seeing girls rushing the stage.. but good GOSH -- there is such thing as the male groupie because men flocked the front of the stage.. a guy even stepped on my damn shoe trying to get to his spot right underneath TANYA's nose.

Very funny because I don't see this too often. Tanya entertained us by joking around with her male fans while singing all of her 'good for nothing' male bashing songs -- which is what most of her songs are about!!

Her female fans were not too far singing her lyrics word for word -- because you KNOW we've all been in similar situations, we can all relate!

One thing I loved about this show is that she didn't rush through the songs and the promoters didn't rush her off the stage. The people got their money's worth and seeing as how the recession STILL AIN'T OVER, thats very important!

Tanya performed ALL of my favorite hits, songs from back, back, BACK in the day all the way up to my newly treasured. She made my long trip to New Jersey well worth it.

I had a lot of fun and the rest of THE WICKEDEST TIME team seemed to be having a ball, dancing around and flirting with men.

Once Tanya stepped off stage, fans didn't even give her a moment to take a sip of water before they rushed her for pictures and autographs, but being in the business for such a long time I'm sure she's use to it. She was very pleasant towards her fans and didn't leave the venue until everyone was satisfied.

I see that Twin Tower Promotions is really bringing ENTERTAINMENT to the New Jersey dancehall scene, I wonder what else they got in store for us??
