DO YOU THINK ITS OK TO USE A STUN GUN ON A PREGNANT WOMAN??
Back in 2004, Malalika Brooks was driving her son to school when she was pulled over for going 32 mph in a school zone. When she was pulled over she insisted that she was a victim of mistaken identity because it was in fact the vehicle in front of her that was speeding.
She received a ticket that needed to be signed but she refused to sign it.. believing that signing the ticket would admit guilt on her behalf but since she did not cooperate with the officers, they decided to take the situation to another level by reaching in, removing the keys from the ignition, and telling her to step out of the vehicle.
She denied these requests, even though they threatened to use the taser on her.
Although she was pregnant, the officers was not bluffing, Sgt. Steven Daman, Officer Juan Ornelas and Officer Donald Jones stunned her three times, in the thigh, shoulder and neck, hauled her out of her car and laid her face down in the street.
Luckily for her, 2 months later she gave birth to a healthy baby but still has the scars from the stun gun.
This case eventually went to court where she states that failure to sign a traffic ticket is not an arrestable offence and its not illegal to resist an unlawful arrest.
Her lawyer states, "This is outrageous -- that something like this could happen to a pregnant woman, in front of an elementary school, at 830 in the morning to someone who posed no threat whatsoever."

KARTEL SET TO OPEN LIBRARY AND CYBER CAFE IN BIG YARD COMMUNITY BY MID APRIL
Vybz Kartel sends out the most mixed signals than anybody else in the limelight, you never really know if you want to love him or hate him but on a day like today, when I hear news like this, I'm willing to take the bad with the good.
Vybz Kartel just released a statement saying that he is working on a project to build a library in the Big Yard community, located right off of Mannings Hill Road.
The library will be called the 'Adidja Palmer Library and Net Cafe' and is expected to be opened by mid-April.
"I spoke to a high-ranking officer from Constant Spring Police Station, a Mr. Wray Palmer, who gave me the idea. He said instead of giving money to the residents which is like a hand-to-mouth kinda thing, why not build something that the community at large can benefit from forever, like a library. That's where I got the idea," says Kartel when speaking about the matter.
He claims that he will be going about this the right way be seeking formal permission from city officials to open the library but has complete confidence that he will not encounter any problems in doing so.
The residents of the community are all very supportive of the idea. "We have teachers of the prominent high schools who reside in the community who are more than willing to take on the task of monitoring and operating the library. We will also be asking private-sector members in the area to foot the monthly bill."
He is also accepting book donations and is also hoping to receive an air conditioning unit for the library.. all donations can be sent to his publicist, Claude Mills -- 14 Kirk Avenue, Havendale.

ILEY DREAD VENTURES INTO WRITING NOVELS AND MAKING GOSPEL MUSIC
I love it when I see artist venturing out into other branches of entertainment. You know that we are all multitalented so there is no point in putting ourselves in a box. We can do a little bit of everything and succeed in all of it!
Just like Macka Diamond the other day who released a book, Iley Dread is on the same path. He is currently working on a novel saying, "The time is now right for it. I have some free time on my hands and what better way to use it than to focus on this novel."
He says that the novel is expected to be completed and published by 2011.
"The book will be about my triumph and trials, my thoughts and beliefs of this world we live in," stated Iley Dread also known as Colin Levy.
But it doesn't stop there, he will continue to work in the studio doing gospel tracks because it's always been a way of life for him. "For me as an individual, gospel music has always been a way for life for me. Listening to gospel music is one of the only times I smile and not feel depressed," while also sharing his passions and belief.

FLEXX FROM TOK GETS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF JEWELRY STOLEN AT AIRPORT
Why badmind always ah grudge people fi dem tings?!
Last week, the group T.O.K was travelling to the US Virgin Islands for a performance but along the way, Flexx checked his luggage when he realized that a diamond bracelet valued at US $4,000 was missing from his luggage.
It wasn't until later when he realized that his white gold chain and a cross pendant with yellow diamonds which were in a purple chain case was ALSO missing from his luggage.
So what kind of attendants they got at the airport???
I feel sorry for him because as much as he complained about the missing items, Flexx was given the run around and has YET to reclaim his jewelry.
Flexx states that he is going to put up a fight... and he won't stop until he gets proper compensation for his missing items.
"I know that I'm not the first to experience theft like this at the airport, but hopefully after this situation something will be done to fix the glitch in our airport security and expose the thieves that constantly prey on hard-working Jamaican citizens. I will not stop until I get back what was taken from me or fully compensated for my loss," he said.

BUJU BANTON FACES INHUMANE CONDITIONS AND DROPPED 40 LBS SINCE ARREST
I just don't like how they're treating Buju in prison. Yeah I know prison was never known for the lap of luxury lifestyle.. but he didn't even go to trial yet! They've been holding him for the past three months and he's already lost 40 lbs.
The man was already slim.. so where he found 40lbs to lose is still a mystery to me.
The lawyers representing Buju has made a bail request on his behalf claiming that Buju is not being provided with a diet in accordance with his religious views.
Although they doubt that he will be granted bail.. they hope that he would at least be moved to a non maximum security unit. But wait a minute, why is he in a maximum security unit in the first place?? This isn't even a murder case!
They got no love for the rasta man.
According to Buju's lawyer, he was able to make appropriate meals in the kitchen with food he purchased from the commissary but no longer has that ability since they moved him to the maximum security wing. Not to mention the living quarters in the kitchen is unsanitary and the showers don't work.
They say that Buju is being subjected to inhumane conditions and was moved into maximum security because last week he was sharing food with another inmate.
Another claim is that these new extreme conditions is affecting him mentally and physically and affecting his ability to prepare for trial which is expected to begin in about 3 weeks.
Hush Buju.. just tell them again.. you have an optimistic soul. Dem ah try beat yuh down.. but it naaaah go work!

REST IN PEACE: VIVIAN BLAKE OF THE NOTORIOUS SHOWER POSSE
Former Kingpin, Vivian Blake died yesterday after suffering from a heart attack this past Saturday at the University Hospital of the West Indies.
Vivian Blake is popularly known as the mastermind behind the Shower Posse, the most notorious Jamaican criminal organization, that established drug bases in more than 20 US cities, Canada and the United Kingdom. They were also link to more than 1,400 murders.
Vivian Blake was also featured on BETs American Gangstar, was listed as FBI's Most Wanted and is often thought of as ruthless and cold hearted.
Surprisingly, people who know him personally were proud to portray him differently, stating that you shouldn't judge a book by the cover. Stating that he's handsome, intelligent, personable, business minded and confident. Also reminding us that his sole purpose was to make money with no intentions of being affiliated with murder.
The Wickedest Time would like to offer condolences to the friends and family of Vivian Blake.. may he rest in peace.

Next weekend will be a big one for Barbados where superstar Mavado and Vybz Kartel will go to perform, but not before they do some charity work.
On March 26th, they will both be at the gymnasium of Garfield Sobers Sports Complex where they will have a meet and greet with some of their biggest fans, the kids!
"Parents can come, they can bring their children and they could ask questions one-on-one to interact with Mavado and Vybz Kartel. People don't understand that this is just music; there is nothing personal between Mavado and Vybz Kartel -- just music," insists one of the promoters of the big event.
Both artistes agrees that during their performance there will be no lewd music, content of behavior. They will respect the environment, the parents and the children and just bring forth good music.

LISA HYPER STARTS AN ALL FEMALE CREW -- 21 BAD GAL
I really admire Lisa Hyper's hustler ambition.
You can tell that she genuinely appreciates her fans and she ignores the badmind people whose only goal is just to bring her down. She take her Gaza lessons to heart and implement them into reality. Regardless if she's apart of the Portmore Empire or not, I just KNOW that Vybz Kartel is proud of her.
With only a few months after she left the Empire, she started her own crew, 21 Bad Gal.
"Yuh going to have Lisa Hyper and 21 Bad Gal. Seven young females, a mi artistes dem," states Lisa Hyper.
She says that she decided to start the crew to help other talented up and coming female artists to reach success in the music industry.
"I have a lot of young female artistes who look up to me and I have the ability to help them. I am going to use my resources to put them out there... A whole heap ah young female artistes have ability and mi waan help dem. Same reason Addi buss mi, mi waan buss dem 'cause mi nuh all fi miself," states Lisa Hyper.
She also says, "Once the person have good talent, it nuh matta if mi big enough. Yuh just haffi have the talent and somebody fi push and guide you."
She's also getting a lot of support on 21 Bad Gal from her new manager MC NUFFY, he says, "With Nuffy with her, she can do anything. A simple mathematics how yuh deal with things. Mi prefer deal with the ladies. Dem easier fi deal wid and dem listen to yuh. Lisa Hyper ah good artiste, she just need somebody fi guide her. I can mek she reach Lady Saw [level]."
Lisa Hyper once again, exudes nothing but confidence stating that, "We nah go have any issues cause we done build a relationship. It ago come in like the whole a wi ah sisters and me a di mumma. Once there is respect, love and unity inna di ting, nutten caan mash up dat!"

ELEPHANT MAN AND Q45 ENDS 10 YEAR MANAGEMENT DEAL
There you have it!
Elephant Man said PEACE to a 10 year management relationship with Q-45 but states that they parted on good terms.
According to Q-45, "Maybe its just time for a change, but we're still good." Unfortunately, Elephant Man was not available to make a comment on the topic.
Q-45 makes it clear that he is still more than willing to work with Elephant Man on future productions but is now thinking about working with new and fresh talent but hopes that Elephant Man is still interested in recording for him.
Right now, Q-45 is spending his time focusing on the promotion of his weekly event, Hennessey Fridays.

I remember when I first heard Ghost you couldn't tell me nutt'n!! I just KNEW it was a female singing. But lo and behold.. here HE is.
Ghost has one of the most original and distinct sounds in reggae music which made people pay attention which is one of the reasons why he soared straight to the top. Ghost was also highly influenced by Michael Jackson so I know he took his recent death hard but big up yuh self Ghost.

EVENT COVERAGE: MAVADO @ CLUB 24 - MARCH 13
YES!! YES!! YES!! DC nice again!!!
First you have to understand something. Mavado is the #1 reggae artist right now. I'm not talking yesterday.. I'm not talking tomorrow.. i'm talking present day, modern day.. NOW! He's at the peak of his career, he's taking the WORLD by storm, he's crossing over and best of all.. he's not cutting off his roots to get there.
He is the SAME gully gad with the same sound he had from the day he got onto the scene. Like Chino says.. we never ever chaaaaannggee!!
So you can imagine my excitement when I heard that he was performing LIVE right here in Washington DC!
I got to the venue kind of late so I was surprised that I found the PERFECT parking spot the instant I got there. Great for me but bad for the situation! The only reason I got this perfect spot was because people we're starting to leave.
When I got to the door everyone seemed disgruntled. Everybody fussing, chaos and confusion.. when I finally got a chance to ask a few people what was going on they were complaining because according to them, Mavado will not be performing.
I just kiss my teeth.. what kind ah foolishness dem ah talk?? After dem no wah see innocent people DEAD in deh! chhuupps!
So I just continued setting up, putting up the banner, taking a few pics and those things. And before you know it I heard the crowd start to go WILD!!
Ladies screaming to the top of their lungs and rushing to the front of stage, people ah beat down di walls and everybody immediately start to get focused. All the cussing and the fighting and the bullshit MUST STOP!
The show about to start!!! And what a show it was!
Do you know that some of our favorite artists on CD can't perform.. AT ALL! You see them on stage and you just want to go to the next one. The crowd ah sing dem tune better dan dem!
But that was NOT the case this past Saturday. Mavado proved to be one of the elites. His stage presence is GREAT! He knows exactly what his audience want to hear, when they want to hear it and most importantly he knows how to control them!
I saw a point in the night when about 8 girls in the front were grabbing on him, just hoping to get a good hold on something long and strong. And the man simply told them to let go.. he didn't yell, he didn't kick them off, or shake them loose. Mavado calmly looked at them and told them to let go. It look like they were hypnotized because all of a sudden they became obedient, and they did as they were told!
During the performance he just gave us hit after hit after hit while the crowd sang along to EVERY word, not skipping a beat, and proving to the gully gad that he has #1 fans for days.
I loved the point in the night when Mavado starting singing, 'yuh know mi money NUFF' because the crowd was in for a treat when money started raining from the stage.. who said the artist dem nah stimulate the economy??
CLUB 24 was JAM PACKED that night which was an exciting sight, I don't see places sell off like that too often so it was a pleasure. The show was well worth it - the time, the money, the sexy outfit and even the fussing and the fighting.
One group of people that I have to give some BIG big ups to is the FANS!! This was the LIVEST CROWD I've seen in the DMV! Full of beautiful people who showed love and supported the thing. Well behaved, well dressed and full of vibes.
Round of applause to Mavado, the Gulliance crew, the selectors, the security guards, the staff, the groupies AND the fans.
