Today is the day that Dudus finally faces a judge at Manhattan Federal Court on 40 counts drug and gun trafficking related charges.
All drug kingpins know that towards the end they have one of two choices. Dead or in jail. I think Dudus had enough time to prepare himself for this day.

The same Reverand who faciliated the surrender of Coke's brother and sister, Leighton and Sandy.
The big question is what next?? Will he suffer the same fate as his father who was burnt alive in a Jamaican jail while waiting for his extradition to the US?? Who will recieve the US$60,000/JA$5 Million bounty that was rested on the head of Christopher 'Dudus' Coke?? When will it be released??
The one month crisis that forced Jamaica into a state of emergency claimed the lives of one soldier and 73 civilians... so now that he is in custody, will the lives of the citizens go back to normal?

You know, sometimes you hear an artist and there's no telling where they'll end up.. but with Akshan.. he's soaring straight to the top and as far as I'm concerned, it's long overdue.
Christopher 'Dudus' Coke's 63 year old mother is worried that the days of seeing her son alive are coming to an end.
Pauline "Patsy" Haliburton is diabetic, blind, and living with an amputated leg. Shortly after the Tivoli Garden invasion she suffered from a stroke and her health is steadily failing but she still spends most of her time with her ear glued to the radio listening to updates regarding her sons man hunt.
Pauline states, "The last few weeks have been the worse in my life. Every night ah lay in my bed just praying and hoping that my son will be safe."
Although she labels her son as a hero and claims that he is innocent, last week the police started a bounty with a cash reward of US$20,000 for the capture of Dudus but have since raised it to approximately US$60,000 with hopes that the end is near.
"All a what dem a say is lie dem telling. Him hardly talk but him care for people and try to help them. Me just wish all of this problem will go away and that dem would just leave him alone. My son is a hero. A pure good things him do for people why dem love him."
But with all this said, words from Christopher's mother will not stop the massive man hunt. The police force actually decided to turn the fire on high by placing a strict curfew on various parts of the island to restrict movement of criminals who may be associated with the reputed criminal leader.
Every time I hear this song I think of SHOTTAS, the movie is always the first thing that comes to my mind but if you pay attention and actually listen to the words of Bob Marley you'll realize that he speaks nothing but the truth.

State Of Emergency is exactly what we're in. Not only in Jamaica, but worldwide.
I was watching the news about the BP Oil Leak and apparently, they've decided that the best way to get the oil out of the water was to ignite it into flames, which leads to thick black polluted clouds of smoke released into the atmosphere. Now they're polluting the air with fumes of who knows what kind of harmful poisons. I feel bad for the people who actually live close to the Gulf because they're feeling it the worse.
Sadly, they'll wake up one morning to find out that the air they're breathing led to cancer.
This mix has nothing to do with BP oil spills but it does make you think about the things that really matter, that things that are immediately affecting our quality of life, and it reminds you to count your blessings because there's some real fucked up shit going on in the world that we manage to slide pass.
A lot of the music on this mix was influenced by the recent attacks on the citizens of Tivoli Gardens and the recent death of dancehall artists O'neil Edwards of the group Voicemail so it's filled with conscious tunes and reality music.

With all of the drama surrounding the extradition attempts of Christopher 'Dudus' Coke and nothing but innocent dead bodies to show for it, the Police Force are now relying on the citizens to capture the drug kingpin.
Police is offering an award of US$20,000 (J$1.7 million) for tips leading to the arrest of Christopher Coke stating that if a person knows of his whereabouts, they are encouraged to contact Operation Kingfish at 811, Crime Stop at 311, or Police Control at 119.
Garnett Silk is gone, but I could never forget him! His music is still in my top 5. It hurts to think that his words, his lyrics and his teachings are more popular now.. now that he's gone.

I really attempted to dance around this who topic of Beenie Man and LA Lewis fighting at O'Neil Edwards funeral last weekend mainly because I was so disgusted.
Jamaica is preaching a praying for PEACE and the King of Dancehall and The Seven Star General fights.. not only fights.. but fights at a FUNERAL. That's a bit ridiculous and disappointing.
WHY??? All because LA Lewis scratched Beenie Man's double parked car after Oneil Edwards funeral.
During an interview, LA Lewis stated, "... mi nah tek Beenie Man lightly because the last man him threaten was Bogle and yu know the outcome of that one, mi nah tek this lightly, mi ah go use the JCF (Jamaica Constabulary Force) and the Queen's law pon him."
And so said so done!!
This morning, after an interview with detectives at the Hunts Bay Police Station, Beenie Man was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm but was given station bail.
Beenie Man is expected to return to court for this case within a month but right now is packing bags to get ready for his European tour.

There is so much positivity in reggae music. I can never understand why it gets such a bad rep. I was just watching a hip hop video on TV the other day and it was some guy rapping about the color yellow.. and lemonade.. because it's yellow. WTF??
So MTV overlook reggae videos to find space for Gucci Mane? Isn't that just wonderful.
Now, if you haven't heard.. there's an artist that goes by the name of XYCLONE. He's based out of Philly and is making waves throughout the dancehall arena.
You know, sometimes I like my music smoothe and soft but then there's the moments when I want it RAW with no sugar coating and Xyclone talk di tings.. direct with no apologies!!
So I got my hands on one of the riddims he produced and you know I'm riddim driven.. so I listened to the tunes featured on it and yes mi dear.. BIG TINGS AH GWAAAAN!!!
I always wanted to know a little bit more about the one they call CHARLY BLACK. He's a small man with a strong presence. His lyrical game is an indicator that he'll be around for a while, and the common tendency to chase after hype and dash whey old fren fi new fren is simply not his style which seems to attract even a larger audience to his craft.
Not only a large audience.. but a REAL audience.
CHARLY BLACK is a hit and before you know it he'll be a household brand. His tunes get nuff airplay and his videos are in constant rotation, he's touring and exploring and here he is sitting down with the folks from DATZWHATZUP.TV catching up and getting a deeper knowledge of the man behind the scenes, the man off stage, the man name CHARLY!!
I actually have to take a step back every few weeks to stay on track and I really like to believe that I'm not the only one that does this.
It's so easy for me to lose focus and go astray but songs like this kinda put me in my meditation mode.. even when I'm not burning a spliff or sipping a drink.
It's all about the simple messages.. stay positive.. be humble, grateful and kind. Stay focused, pure and true. Love your friends, love your enemies, or at least stay cordial towards them.
