I'm checking out the new Teflon mixtape and he goes hard on the entire mix. It even looks like I Octane offended him because he has one track on here where he makes a lyrical attack on him, but I'm pretty sure that if a war ensues, it will strictly be a lyrical one.
Here we have 44 tracks where he flows on some of my favorite riddims which seem to accentuate the strength in his voice. I swear to you, I'm listening to the mix and feel like I'm sitting right in the studio while he's creating it.
Teflon introduces a different style of reggae music that I don't seem to promote too often on the site so it adds a refreshing mix to things...
He say's "they're" fighting his righteous ways, especially for being Rastafarian but the end is near and he's getting closer to his goals... Teflon is breaking through!!!
Why couldn't they just arrest this man and take him to the police station?
Jamaica's government really need to break down the constabulary force and rebuild a fresh new one. They can't just act like nothing is wrong with their system and just assume that the problem is going to disappear on its own.
I know I've never sat in office so I can't act like I know what it's like to make the "BIG DECISIONS" but honestly, its been done before!! There are quite a few nations who figured out what works.. and did it, yup.. they're called First World Countries. If the government need the step-by-step manual on making your nation work for you, read a HISTORY BOOK!!!
I just don't understand.
But Jamaica needs to do SOMETHING and stop acting like problems like this just vaporize into thin air.
Why do people always talk about what NEEDS to be done but NEVER implement any of the ideas?

Everything's great when the media is taking pictures with you holding champagne bottles an ah dash whey money but it surely sucks when media is watching the tax team tow your luxury vehicles off your property.
Just a month ago Jamaica's Tax Administration Department seized Elephant Man's Mercedes and raided his home for owing massive amounts of money in unpaid taxes and apparantly, Bounty Killer was next on the list!
Early this morning, Bounty Killer's Range Rover and Land Cruiser was seized outside of his complex on Constant Spring Road by members of the Tax Administration Department's Special Enforcement Team.
So.. for any other artists who needs to make a phone call to the tax department should do so now.. before things get mucky!

There's tons of collaborations on this album.. Stephen Marley, Jazmine Sullivan, Nas, Sizzla, Queen Ifrica, Marcia Griffiths, I Octane, Swizz Beats.. and the list just goes on and on which excites me because these are all artists that I know and rate!

From the instant I heard that the Bobby Konders and Jabba show on HOT 97 was BARELY playing reggae music.. thats when I realized that hip hop and reggae needed to have a serious conversation.
How do you stop playing reggae on a radio show that use to play 100% reggae?? Where they do that at?
Either way, with artists like Nicki Minaj and Drake who are dominating the hip hop scene, I give nothing but thanks to since they clearly have a thing for Jamaica and all its glory.
Nicki Minaj did the remix to Gyptian's "Hold Yuh" which I tend to hear more often than the original version..
She was featured in Sean Kingston's, "Letting Go" which I still can't get out of my mental CD player and now she's calling for Vybz Kartel with hopes that he will do a collaboration with her on her upcoming album, "Pink Friday".
Although it's unofficial.. I have high hopes. Nicki's statement came across her twitter page and as much as a hate using social networks as official sources, I'd like to believe that this one is concrete.

When Vybz Kartel was contacted, his response was, "I would definitely do it. No charge! Just work out something in the rampin' shop. I, personally, believe in the smooth criminal. You ever watched an action movie and didn't want the 'bad guy' to get caught?
That's because he was so good at being bad! And secretly putting a GPS tracker on someones car is CHEATING!
But action movies is a lot different from real life and over on this side, the police and the judicial system goes hand in hand. Invading someone's privacy means nothing when the police is doing the meddling.
Ok, so story time..
Law enforcers suspected that Juan Pineda-Moreno was growing marijuana but couldn't find any real evidence to back up their case so they decided to put a GPS tracker on the Jeep that he owned and waited for results.
The officers used the GPS data as evidence which gave them information like the longitude and latitude of where the Jeep was driven, and how long it stayed. This was how they learned that the Jeep was driven to a remote rural area where agents discovered marijuana being grown.
Although Juan Pineda-Moreno pleaded guilty, he appealed saying that sneaking onto a person's driveway and secretly tracking their car violates a persons reasonable expectation of privacy.
Apparently, the officers went onto his property several times in the middle of the night without his knowledge and without his permission.
Now, they're going back and forth.. some people believe that in order to do any type of surveillance the officers should have gotten a warrant and without a warrant, what type of rights does a human being have when protecting themselves from law enforcers??
Others believe that a GPS tracker is similar to visually following a person which doesn't require a courts approval..
They say that this case will more than likely make it to the supreme court.

Apparently, Sean Kingston known Barbee (dancing in front of Sean Kingston) from back in the days when they were youngsters and when he was prepping to shoot the video for "LETTING GO" he invited Barbee to be the leading lady in the video.
Barbee took a flight to Jamaica specifically for this video shoot. Everything was going great on the set, Barbee was in at least 30 shots, they took pictures, drank liquor and had lots of laughs until the final cut was released.
This is the video WITH Barbee all up and through it...
Can you imagine the look on Barbee's face when she sat in front of the screen to watch the premiere of the video... only to learn that she was cut out of every single scene!!?! Well PAUSE.. not every SINGLE scene. If you notice the black stilettos in the beginning of the video, well guess what!! That's Barbee!!
No one really knows WHY she was cut out of the video but Barbee's publicist believes it has everything to do with NICKI MINAJ!
"Barbee is six feet tall and has the perfect body. Everything about Barbee is NATURAL. It's the look cause she wasn't even singing. I don't see how Nicki Minaj could have been so intimidated. Nicki also calls herself Barbie. Barbee is a namesake for her, so to have this other 'barbie' obviously would have been a challenge."

I didn't even realize how close we were to my favorite stage show of the year! Time flies and I haven't seen any advertisements promoting the grand event so I didn't even think twice about it.
That was until my homegirl called me asking me about my arrangements for this year, basically, will I be in front of the stage... or behind the stage.
And dammit.. thats a GOOD QUESTION, so I opened google and typed in "IRIE JAMBOREE 2010" to find out that they wont be having it this year!
WTF!?!?!?
Am I the only one whose concerned about the fact that the world is about to end??
I'm trying to have as much fun as possible before my last day and IRIE JAMBOREE plays a major part in that!
But regardless of how I feel about this, it doesn't change the fact that Irie Jamboree have no intention on bringing the noise or bringing the hype in 2010.
And they gave 4 pretty good reasons why!!
1. The Recession
Ain't nothing going on but the RENT! And people can barely get THAT together so as far as entertainment is concerned, that budget is close to nonexistent.. from the bottom class all the way to the top.
The only way this would have worked if the folks at Irie Jamboree dropped the cover price, but honestly, no one likes to dip into their profit.
2. Artist Visa Cancellation / Incarceration
Yeah, there are a lot of artists who they could have booked instead of cancelling the show. But really, I don't know how I would've felt if I went to one of the BIGGEST REGGAE SHOWS without seeing Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Busy Signal, Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Ninja Man, Jah Cure, Luciano, Sizzla.. and AIDONIA!
Thinking about it, that right there is a lineup to die for!! It's a shame we wont be seeing them in the US for quite some time..
3. The 8pm Shut Down
I don't think Caribbean folks even know what 8pm looks like. But the New York Mayor went through the local police department to instate an order where all events at area parks must be over by 8pm.
Irie Jamboree wasn't even able to end at the legal time back when they had until 10pm. It was always a fuss and a fight with the officers to shut things down so you can imagine 8pm would have been torture.
4. The Funky Thing We Call The DANCEHALL INDUSTRY
Yeah.. I didn't wanna say it out loud, but we're failing. On our report card.. we got an F! And you know what that means, that means.. not enough people are supporting the music, concerts and even the sound clashes are taking a hit. It's a bit harder to sell the name of DANCEHALL to sponsors and just because they caught up with DUDUS doesn't mean there isn't an aftermath to be felt.
Well here it is.. do you feel it??
So this along with a whole bunch of other random reasons why IRIE JAMBOREE is taking a break this year to build.
They insist that 2011 they will be back stronger than ever and promises that it will be a show that you will NOT want to miss!
So there you have it, now I have to look into where I need to go to compliment my 2010 Labor Day Festivities..
The riddim alone gets me weak! But then I hear the voice full of soul teasing my eardrums.. yeah, thats how I know a song made it to my favorites.
It makes me want to rock and come in while sippin' on my glass of hennessy..
This reminds me of the music I heard when I went to this spot called Ken's Wildflower in Portmore that played some of the best lovers rock and oldies but goodies.
When I listen to this tune it makes me realize that some of the music I've been listening to lately isn't necessarily GOOD MUSIC.. but just music I've settled for.
THIS is what you call GOOD MUSIC.. music that nurses the soul..

Despite the extreme circumstances, Buju Banton career will not stop. Honestly, it will NEVER stop. There are too many fans worldwide for that. But Buju, himself will not stop and you can use that as a lesson. You can't say that just because of your situation you can't do whatever it is you know damn well you need to do.

Buju's record label, Gargamel Music is looking forward to releasing Buju's 9th album on the same day he is scheduled to return to court for this drawn out drug charge.

He filled a bottle with his semen.. well, he probably didn't FILL it.. but he had a bottle with his semen and decided it would be funny to squirt it on shoppers in a grocery store. But he needed the proof so he whipped out his camera phone to take a snapshot!
What makes it worse is that every now and then, when the vibe hits him.. he goes to another shopping center and does the same thing. This is not the first time he was charged in similar incident.
Who does things like this??
He is now free on a $50,000 bond so.. what would you do if he squirted on YOU!??
This is not the first time you heard that bad mind was active.. and believe you, me.. it won't be the last. I know you'll find bad mind at every corner of the globe but sometimes it feels like Jamaica has the most per capita.
Each and everyone one of us is gonna feel it at some point in our lives and if you think they bad mind you now, wait until you start making some REAL money!
The Blood brothers, Andrew and Wada Blood is feeling it the most now during the peak of their careers. They claim that some of the power players within the Dancehall music industry is shutting them out because of disagreements they have with their father, the legendary Junior Reid.
"Andrew and Wada Blood, we are our own individual artistes. We have proven ourselves in music with hit songs. But we are not pleased with the fact that people out there are using personal differences that they have against Junior Reid, against us. We would like them to stop hold grudge against us and give us the props that we deserve. We are getting a lot of calls from overseas but certain people in the industry have personal differences with Junior Reid and they us it against Andrew and Wada Blood. Junior Reid is Junior Reid and we are our own entity, but we are one family."
Everyday is a fight but I'm proud to state that Andrew and Wada Blood won't be giving up any time soon. The hardship their facing will only push them to work harder and with the talent they have, nothing can stand in their way!
Dancehall is cool for the clubs, roots and culture is great for meditation, but LOVERS ROCK nurses the soul! By far my favorite genre.
I was talking to my little cousin and he made it clear that he listen to two types of music, VYBZ KARTEL cause he's "The General" and lovers rock because that's how you get the ladies.
He's young, but I'm trying to school him. The REAL General is Beres Hammond but he'll learn that in due time.

I been rocking to this song for a second.. I'm really feeling it, even more when I saw this pic of G Whizz!
I always thought he was a cutie but dayuum! He's a sexy little fucker! LOL. You remember the days when 98% of reggae artists were ugg muggs?? (you remember those days..) now we have artists like Konshens, G Whizz, Chris Martin, and Agent Sasco taking the stage.
When I first got to the pool party I was immediately impressed by how fly the mansion was. The pool was huge and there was so much space in the backyard. You could smell the food in the air and they had big sounds set up.
This was looking like a perfect scenario for a live bashment but there was only one problem, it was so damn hot! You can see it on everyone's face that was there in the early stages that the heat was just too unbearable.
I got there at about six o' clock and I thought I was late because everything was supposed to start at two but it turned out that I was actually early after all. It was simply too hot and most just couldn't bear being out there in the sun for so long.
So they decided to push back the fashion show that was supposed to start in the early evening to later in the night once the weather cooled down and in the mean time they had photographers doing photo schools alongside the pool with the featured models, which gave the event a unique and cool vibe.
Once it got to about 8 or 8:30, the sun went down and the party officially started to kick off, especially once the Fresh 2 Death crew showed up. It's like everyone started pouring in all at once. So they finally started the fashion show at around 9:00pm and it was pretty fly.
The Fresh 2 Death Crew were clowning around as the models strutted by. After a while, the pool was full of people, mostly ladies of course. They were clearly having a good time and there were people all over pool side. The place was packed by about 10:30 but unfortunately, this was the point when the battery on my camera suddenly ran out.
Around the same time when Skerrit Bwoy showed up, dressed ever so fresh and clean, and the bar instantly started to get more lively as bottles started getting popped. The party straight sell off by this point. There were plenty of lovely ladies in swimwear all over and the fellas came out fresh and stuntin'.
Now, Skerrit Bwoy didn't do any dancing because he seemed to just be playing it cool and saving it for the after party at Club 24, but the Fresh 2 Death dancers were definitely getting it poppin' by the DJ booth.
They did all types of wild antics like jumping in the pool while daggering chicks and fully clothed at that! It was definitely a sight to see and they themselves made my night.
The party stayed consistently poppin' until the very end and those last few hours being well worth the wait and sweat through the blazing heat.
