SHAGGY GETS READY TO PERFORM AT CHARITY CONCERT IN NEW JERSEY

Shaggy is well known for being a part of charity initiatives so its not surprise that he is teaming up with some of the best in the music industry to bring New Jersey an experience of a lifetime with a charity concert featuring, Nicki Minaj, Ciara, Machel Montano, Dahved Levy from WBLS and Terrance & Rocsi from 106th and park!!

The benefit concert happens right before Halloween, on October 28th, 2010 and the concert is raising money towards empowering residents and improving the quality of life in New Jersey's urban communities.

Of course, I would prefer if it was going towards this massive flood in Jamaica but yet and still, I am grateful that it is assisting the urban community. I really do believe that one day we can establish ourselves like the Jews.

BUJU BANTONS TRAIL DATE RESCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 2010 -- BUJU SEEMS RELIEVED

It looks like the jurors can't decide because Buju Banton has to wait until December before he knows whether or not he will be charged in this massive drug case.

One good thing is that he may qualify for bail in the meantime. Buju's super attorney, David Oscar Markus filed an application for bail but must wait until tomorrow to see if it was approved.

Although, no one really knows what the outcome will be.. Buju seemed relieved when he heard about the new trial date!!

AFFLUENT BLACKS ARE MORE CHARITABLE AND MORE FAMILY ORIENTED THAN NON BLACKS

They're known as the 'untapped market' for luxury brands, they're overlooked, under appreciated, but yet still they EXIST (although many thought it was impossible), and they're more charitable and more family oriented than the rest.. they are the AFFLUENT BLACKS!!

Just because I'm black doesn't mean I'm poor, hungry, ghetto, or uneducated. It doesn't mean I'm not cultured, or that I don't appreciate the better things in life. And the list goes on for days... ughh, I HATE stereotypes!

What it DOES mean is Affluent Blacks:

Are more likely to feel responsible for supporting elderly parents or other family members financially

But why not, we were raised that family comes first!! We are who we are because of our family so if we have the money flow, there's no doubt that our family should be taken care of! This is what they call 'first generation wealth'. That 'affluent black' might have been the first person to go to college, start a business or become affluent so there's a greater feeling of responsibility to become an example to the family AND the community, proving that it's POSSIBLE and that others can be successful too!

Are more likely to make charitable donations

It's true!! Fifty two percent of affluent blacks are more likely to make charitable donations to educational organizations than non blacks (39%). Blacks are more likely to support religious groups (48%) versus non blacks at (44%) and human services organizations too (47%) versus (39%)!!

These stats are courtesy of NORTHERN TRUST, they conducted a study entitled, "Wealth In Black America: 2010 Study of Financial Attitudes and Preferences of Affluent Blacks".

BUJU BANTON's DRUG CASE FINALLY MAKES IT TO THE COURTROOM TODAY!

And now time for some news that really matter!

Today is the day when BUJU BANTON's case FINALLY makes it to the courtroom!!

Buju Banton been waiting behind bars since December of 2009 for charges of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 5 kilos of cocaine as well as possession of a firearm during the course of a drug trafficking crime.

Buju hired top of the line attorney David Oscar Markus to defend him in the court of law and he seems to be very confident that this case will be closed within a week where BUJU BANTON will finally be able to leave as a free man and continue to make music for us to enjoy.

The two other men who were charged with Buju has already entered guilty pleas and may testify against him but attorney David Oscar Markus is still confident and hope that the other two who were charged will tell the truth, that BUJU BANTON was NOT a part of this drug deal.

I guess it's every man for himself..

BOUNTY KILLER ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING FEMALE WITH A HAMMER

Bounty Killer is a TRIP!!!

And the next woman to lay up next to him deserve the beat down because every other day his name is on the top of the news because he give some gyal a *KUFF* *KWAFF* *KWEFF* and two tump to the top of har forehead.

This time.. with a HAMMER!!!!!

Over the weekend, Mr. Cross, Angry, MISERABLE himself was arrested after his female lover showed up at the Constant Spring police station badly bruised and bleeding, reporting that Bounty Killer assaulted her with a hammer.

You know how many times he get arrested for beating up on a woman and I cross my fingers hoping they keep him in jail?? TOO OFTEN!! Let's see what happens this time around.. it's funny how he only have strength for women.. I never hear about him fighting a man YET!

That's not even assault.. that should be filed as attempted murder! If you attack someone with a hammer, you're trying to kill them.

Either way, he's expected to appear in court later this week so he'll be in custody until then.

MOTHER TEACHES 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HOW TO SMOKE A BLUNT

You know, some people really shouldn't have kids.

Just because you CAN have kids doesn't mean you SHOULD have kids! And here is a prime example why.

Some people have kids and spend their idle time using them as guinea pigs. You know how folks like to give their dogs liquor because its funny to see the dogs run around sideways cause their drunk?? Yeah, this is similar.

This 21 year old mother, Jessica Gamble, gave her 2 year old daughter marijuana to smoke and thought it was sooooo cute that she taped it on her camera phone and sent it out to a few of her friends. I wonder which one of her friends sent it to the authorities?

Now if you check out the video below, you'll see that the 2 year old is smoking the blunt like a PROFESSIONAL! So clearly, this isn't her first time.

And as much as I chant that weed is life. It's not for children.. The little girl is attempting to develop brain cells and her body is trying to nurture healthy lungs and as an adult you should just respect that.

Either way, the mother is now being charged with 3 felonies and could face up to 11 years in prison if convicted on all charges. Of course, child endangerment, evidence tampering, and "corrupting another with drugs".

Right now, the little girl is staying with relatives but seriously, I question that as well. I'm just saying, relatives raised Jessica.. and you see how that turned out!

Sorry to say but the other day I went to hear STONE LOVE play.. and I was disappointed!

Now, I never really heard STONE LOVE, play before. But of course, I expected the typical, "Good over Evil", livity, righteousness and consciousness.. right??

I can't even act like I wasn't warned. I heard that the ORIGINAL Stone Love crew still do their thing but the up and comers using the stone love name don't necessarily follow the "STONE LOVE THEME" and these days, they barely sell out a dance.

I, of course, had to see this for myself..

And what a disappointment!! A whole heap of Mavado.. Kartel.. gun tunes and cock it up tunes!! That's all good and great for a regular dance but I didn't come for that.. I came for the STONE LOVE styleeeeee!!

JAMAICA LEADS THE CARIBBEAN OUT OF RECESSION WITH THE INCREASE OF TOURISTS

I got this from being a loyal fan to Jamaica My Way on facebook.. and trust me, I would have never thought this was true if someone randomly told me while walking down the street.

But seeing as how this is coming from a credible source.. I feel the need to share!

Jamaica.. that sweet little island full of ackee trees and roaming goats is still attracting tourists from near and far!

Despite the global decrease in holiday travelers, Jamaica managed to increase their worldwide visitor figures by 3.6 percent totaling 1.3 million visitors between January and August.

This year has been a difficult year for Jamaica.. the increase in crime, the merger of Air Jamaica and Caribbean Air and the whole Dudus incident really had me worried about what was to become of that pretty island under the sun but Jamaica continues to lead the Caribbean out of this recession and for that, I'm proud!

And with Jamaica's new marketing campaign to repair Jamaica's tarnished reputation, the travel board is optimistic stating that they're expecting another 1.9 million visitors by the end of the year!!

And guess what, I'll be one of them because I plan to be there by Christmas!! :-)

SPRAGGA BENZ "SHOTTA CULTURE" ALBUM RELEASE PARTY @ SANTOS PARTY HOUSE

The vibes was nice!!

After such a long day of running around town, which felt like FOREVER I finally made it to the city in time to support one of the biggest artists to ever come out of Jamaica..

SPRAGGA BENZ!

It took me a while but it was great to finally get there and have the good vibes just embrace me like a sweater.

It was time to get the exclusives from the highly anticipated album "SHOTTA CULTURE"!! An album that SPRAGGA BENZ been working on for YEARS!!

But let me tell you about "TOP FLIGHT SECURITY".. you couldn't just sneak into this one.. oh no, they had the door on lock and was even looking at me kinda funny before letting me in!

Once I was in, everything was great..

SPRAGGA BENZ just made it onto the stage and the place was packed. Tons of media people were in the very front while industry players, supporters, celebs, and family occupied the space in the surrounding areas.

The party was CRAZY!! The atmosphere was lit! The vibes was nice! The people were beautiful, happy and supportive and Spragga Benz gave a PHENOMENAL show but the best part was watching him perform while the backdrop played the videos to the songs, it gave his performance a nice touch!

He was backed by DJ Hype, DJ Gravy, Kenny Meez and Max Glazer from

Federation Sound and trust me, I felt like I was at an outdoor stage show. For a moment, I thought SPRAGGA BENZ was backed by a live band!!

I already knew to expect the best because it was Max Glazer who mixed my favorite Aidonia mixtape and Federation Sound already made a name for themselves in the Dancehall circuit.. but to hear them at work was a whole different situation!

This album release party gave us the exclusives on "SHOTTA CULTURE".. we got to see the videos, hear the songs, learn about Spragga Benz and where he was coming from when he created this album.. and best of all, see him perform the tunes in a way that no one else ever could.

No youtube, live stream, snap shot or camcorder can ever describe to you the energy that was felt throughout the club that night!

It all went down at SANTOS PARTY HOUSE which was cool cause they have a nice atmosphere set up in there. Lots of strobe lights, fog machines, hors d'oeuvres and drinks galore!!

That night EVERYBODY went home with a copy of the SHOTTA CULTURE album, courtesy of Spragga Benz who seem to just want to spread the gift of music to his fans.. when I asked why, he said, "It's for my fans, I love them!"

The party was way more fun than I ever imagined.. I could get use to this!! :)
