REST IN PEACE TO THE COOL RULER, GREGORY ISAACS

2010 has been a tough year and it's so sad for me to announce that another reggae icon has left us this morning at the age of 59.

Gregory Isaacs was diagnosed with cancer of the liver which continued to spread, sadly the battle has been a hard one for him.

He left us this morning at his home in London and leaves behind his wife and children. I am very sorry for your lost and I offer you my condolences and strength during these difficult times. It's always a sad day when you lose greatness and we, his fans, feel it too.

Reggae music lost another legend. Rest Peacefully Gregory Isaacs, we love you!

SPRAGGA BENZ STARTS A COLLECTION FOR THE BUJU BANTON DEFENSE FUND

We all know that BUJU need the help but how many do we see doing, actually DOING something to support the cause?

Spragga Benz is!!

It all went down on October 16th at Mangoville in Queens, NY. The main event was the Road International 27th Anniversary Party, the place look well pack and full ah vibes but best of all, spontaneous!!

Spragga Benz performed for the Road International's 27th Anniversary party and reminded the crowd of his friend, Buju's incarceration to keep the support going. According to photographer, Allyson Ione, "It was an impromptu fundraiser ... when the house was packed and the crowd moving is when off of a vibe he asked the crowd to remember Buju and the people start step forward and donate."

As you can see, other artists like Shaggy was in the building and supportive of the cause as well which encouraged others to do the same.

And from the sounds of it, Spragga Benz is doing it more and more often!! Spragga states that, "Personally, I will do all I can to help Buju ... who have the love, respect and appreciate can do the same. All naysayer who glad, Jah guide you too."

Spragga goes on to say, "If one Jamaican suffers, we all suffer. If one is wronged, we're all wronged. If one is down, we are all down. We must all stand as one nation."

I love what's going on right here and I really hope this will stimulate more like it. More acts of philanthropy and more support, more acts of love and more unity.

If you gotta look at the numbers, the first trail costed Buju $500,000 and $300,000 for the retrail, $250,000 bail, $30,000 for the home security so we encourage everyone to assist. Every little bit counts so don't stress your head, but open your heart and support..

BUJU BANTON WAS OFFERED $250,000 BAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a rainy, gloomy evening in New York City but I'm happy as ever cause WHO JAH BLESS NO MAN CURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buju was offered $250,000 in the Sam M Gibbons Federal Court in the United States.

But he's still not free because his lawyer must seek bond in the immigration court to prevent his deportation to Jamaica.

As part of his his bail conditions he will be on house arrest, forced to wear a monitoring device and under 24 hour security, which will be paid for by the defence.

He is only allowed to leave the house for meetings with his attorney, doctors appointments and to purchase medication. And right when I started to think he would be in the house puffing a challis and making music, I learned that he will also be subjected to drug testing!

This is definitely moving on the right path.

BOUNTY KILLA MAKES PLEDGE TO SUPPORT THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE TOWARDS WOMEN

How about we all UNiTE to end violence against women?

Even Bounty Killer is a part of the movement saying that he's ready to turn a new page in his life so he along with a number of other artists made a pledge to support the elimination of violence towards woman in the region.

The campaign uses Caribbean artists to spread their message to the masses which would raise public awareness.

The chairman, Olivia 'Babsy' Grange stated, "A lot of times, artists don't understand the opportunity and responsibility we have to make a difference in society, more effective than our parents, and teachers, even politicians."

As much as I agree with the focus of this organization, I truly believe that Bounty Killer need a bit more than just a pledge to 'turn a new page in his life'... holla at me when he signs up for anger management classes!

DIVA NIKKI Z WANTS DANCEHALL ACTS TO BE INDUSTRIOUS DURING THE AGE OF TECHNOLOGY

Diva Nikki Z speaks the TRUTH!

I can't wait for the day when all of my favorite dancehall/reggae artists take advantage and exhaust ALL OF THEIR RESOURCES!!

No lie, music coming from Jamaica get a struggle, but life in Jamaica is a struggle too! Definitely not something that comes as a surprise. It's suppose to make us STRONGER, SMARTER, RESILIENT, DURABLE and yes, RESOURCEFUL!

So when I come across lazy wanna be "STARS" that ignore the very things that they KNOW would make difference.... really and truly, it irritates me!!!

But here is Dancehall media princess, Diva Nikki Z in an exclusive interview with ENTERTAINMENT REPORT speaking it out, loud and clear!

I really enjoyed this interview as she elaborate on the topics that matter to dancehall fans, artists, and moguls alike. She talks about some of the things she believe would be beneficial for artists who want to make a bigger and better impression in our beloved industry.

Many of which I agree with so tek a pree... and to all the 'up and comers'.. take notes!

PLAYLIST: KONSHENS - CROSSFIRE (WESTSIDE RIDDIM)

How one man so sexy!!!!

I want to see Konshens do some serious modeling at some point during his entertainment career. No matta what him ah sell, me buy it!

I was just put on to his new tune on the Westside Riddim and it pumped soul back into my body. The riddim is CRAZY and every single song on the riddim is blazin' fire. Artists like Gappy Ranks, I Octane, Konshens, Fantah Mojah and nuff nuff more deh pon dis riddim.

I'm the type of girl that melt in the hands of good music and something about this riddim, the tunes on the riddim and of course the artists that I just can't get enough of just hypnotize me with their melodic styles.

BIG UP to SPECIAL DELIVERY MUSIC!!!!!! PLEASE do this more often.. AND THANKS for the special delivery!

PLAYLIST: SPICE - JIM SCREECHIE (JIM SCREECHIE RIDDIM) [OFFICIAL VID]

SPICE!!!

LAWD GYAL mi love dis video!! I see that Lady Gaga started a few trends and I just love that Spice was open to that type of creativity. I rate the piercing in the back of her neck!! I love that piercing.. for a matter of fact, I HAD ONE!! And it was my favorite piercing EVER but my neck didn't appreciate it and it was STRAIGHT rejection..

But I don't see to many people who are bold enough to get it.. so yes SPICE!! I see you!

Spice is setting some high standards.. she's bold, she's beautiful, creative, and talented so ladies... you gotta come harder if you want to play in the same ring!

Spice is one girl whe no fraid fi push it to di limit!!

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE NEW FASHION IN SCHOOL?

Here is the latest video of "WHAT A GWAAN" where they interview the citizens of Jamaica about the new trends and fashion statements amongst the schoolers who want to emulate the dancers and express themselves through their clothes.

But how much is too much? How do you feel about the new fashion in school compared to when YOU were in school?

BUJU BANTON MEDLEY AND INTERVIEW -- OLD SCHOOL IS THE BEST SCHOOL

The other day I turned on my clock radio while getting ready for work and I came across some random reggae show that played NOTHING BUT BUJU BANTON! I don't know how long the show was, but I listened for a good 90 minutes with non stop BUJU!

It was great!

His old tunes, his new tunes, songs like "DESTINY", "HUSH, BABY HUSH" and the infamous "UNTOLD STORIES" not to mention some other songs I forgot all about!

It just reminds me that Buju has an extensive catalog of great music and from listening to the type of music that he makes, the type of impact he made through his music, and the reiteration of it through this video, I really can't believe he's caught up in this drug case, but as you know...

Who Jah Bless, No Man Curse..

So everything will work out in its due time. That's all I can really hope for at this point.

MIXTAPE DOWNLOAD: BUSY SIGNAL - MY WAY

The man just doesn't stop!!

He's droppin' them like bombs because the man is FOCUSED! Here is another mixtape download from the one and only BUSY SIGNAL which features more of his alternative side but without a doubt, a collection of great music.

This one was mixed by the super duper DJ Khaled so that alone can give you the idea of a more hip hop fusion, lots of hip hop and rap beats but with a dancehall twist to it.

I definitely enjoyed listening to it and from listening you'll get a better grasp of the all the different styles that Busy Signal possess. He's multi talented and he proves it with this mixtape so go on ahead, download and enjoy!!
