PLAYLIST: BEENIE MAN + TOYA - ONE MAN WOMAN [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

By: Simone Mosley

I am a ONE MAN WOMAN!!

Beenie Man along with Toya did it with their relationship anthem!  One man girl! Ah! Ah!

I love the feel good song about love and relationships!  Ah true, relationships have their ups and downs and with this song the two hit the nail on the head.  From the arguments, disappearing acts and searching through cell phones to the affirmation of one's love and admiration and everything else in between... this song and video sums it up!

Jah know how much mi love Beenie, if that was my man I would sing this song loud and proud.

Hol' up yuh hand if you ah ONE MAN OOOMAN!!

"MI NUH TEST HEARTBEAT.... MI LOCK DEM OFF!!!" - TWINS OF TWINS [STIR IT UP - VOLUME 9]

The official comedians of dancehall are excited to announce that their album "Stir It Up - Vol. 9" is finally available on ITUNES and hard copies will become available on July 6th.

This highly anticipated album features comedy skits from the duo as they dramatize controversial stories and dancehall headlines that captured the masses throughout the reggae fraternity.  It's filled with impersonations, embellishments, and creative episodes to keep fans laughing over and over again!

And I am enjoying EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!

MIXTAPE DOWNLOAD: THE BEST OF SIZZLA KALONJI by THREE DIAMOND SOUND

Back in the day.. way before The Wickedest Time was even a thought.  I was the ultimate fiend of everything SIZZLA KALONJI.  You would have called me crazy if you saw me in the streets!  Some of my closest friends even hinted towards it! LOL

As the years passed, I've toned it down... DRAMATICALLY!  But every now and then I have to bring him back into my musical rotation.

I came across this mix by Three Diamond Sound and what I LOVE about it the most is that I don't even have to download the mix if I don't want to.  The instant you log on to the site it just starts playing.  So for all who's a bit weary about downloading random things from the internet.  YOU'RE IN LUCK!

But if you're the type to download like crazy, make mix CD's for your car and friends, you have that option too!

When I was literally ADDICTED to Sizzla, most of these songs were in my catalogue so I'm in PARADISE right now!

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD or to just listen and enjoy!! =P

And check out this NEW VIDEO from Sizzla entitled, "ZIMBABWE" !!

PLAYLIST: BOUNTY KILLER - SEEK GOD (KETTE DRUM RIDDIM)

They act like they don't know!!  The devil will not come near you if you are clothed with God's presence. So SEEK GOD!

Don't you realize that we are living in Revelations?? The final book in the bible..

BUJU BANTON WAS SENTENCED THIS MORNING >> 10 YEARS + 5 YEARS PROBATION!!

The news broke out this morning that Buju Banton was given the LOWEST SENTENCE LEGALLY ALLOWED for his role in the large cocaine trafficking deal in 2009...  10 years in prison and 5 years probation.

Mark Myrie, better known as Buju Banton will be 48 years old by then!

I don't know if that's a blessing or a curse.

TEN years is a LONG TIME.. but if it's the lowest he would have been allowed then maybe our prayers and letters for leniency actually worked.

According to his lawyer, David Markus, showed a hint of hope stating that the time he's already served along with good behavior, it's quite possible that Buju will be out within 6 years!

I guess all we can do is wait and see...

Buju Banton left us stating,

"The days that lie ahead are filled with despair, but I have courage and grace and I am hopeful, and that is sufficient to carry me through....... The man is not dead.  Don't call him a ghost."

Some hoped that he would at least be able to record music behind bars but unfortunately inmates are prohibited from conducting business on site and recording music is on the list of forbidden activities at the penitentiary.

Thankfully, Buju has been apart of the music industry since he was about 15 years old so we have a lot of music to go through while he's confined.

Sometimes I feel like we're not met to survive because its a set up... a systematic set up!!  But don't worry about that, hold your medz and hold your head high Buju!!  10.. 20.. and 30 years from now you will still have your FANS, friends and family standing behind you with nothing but love and support!

THE BUILDING WILL REOPEN ON JULY 1ST WITH A NEW NAME AND A NEW ATTITUDE.... "CLUB RIDDIM"

A few weeks ago, the popular nightclub 'The Building' closed its doors leaving patrons to wonder if they will ever reopen.
Corey Todd, ex business partner of Vybz Kartel stated that the nightclub formerly known as The Building will reopen but under a new management, with a new name and a new attitude,

"Business is business, I am still a part of the team and I will ensure that Club Riddim will do what I set out to do in the beginning and that's represent dancehall fully.  I look forward to get all selectors including ones I haven't been able to work with in the past such as Stone Love, Foota Hype, Boom Boom, Raz N Biggy, Jigsey, Mario C, The Fresh Team and even Tony Matterhorn."
As a part of their rebranding campaign, Club Riddim will be hosting a "Summer Live Concert Series" for the next couple of weeks where every week will have a different lineup of artists such as Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Assassin, Blak Ryno, Jah Vinci, Aidonia, Busy Signal, Lady Saw, Sizzla, Konshens, and I Octane!!

According to Corey Todd,

"Club Riddim will be 100 percent unbiased and not run like a patty shop.  All artist songs will play and the club will represent the authentic dancehall.  That is why the club can finally be deemed as the official club of dancehall, this is what it should have been in the first place."

PLAYLIST: MUNGA - HEY GIRL (JINX RIDDIM ) [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

The GANGSTA RAS is back!!

According to him, "I never really left the scene, but I am back with a fire and passion bigger and better than what I had when I just started out in the business."

And it SHOWS!!  Within just a few months I've noticed him in a slew of music videos.  It's like he woke up from hibernation and just took off running at full throttle!

I'm just happy to see him back, full of energy and ready to give the people what they've been waiting for.

It's officially the SUMMER OF 2011!!!!!  I'm ready for the music, the cookouts, and the beach parties, the stage shows, ATI, Dream Weekend.... the WORKS!!!

PLAYLIST: JAH VINCI - MAMA LOVE (ETERNAL RIDDIM)

I just want to put a smile on my old woman's cheek...

It's a good feeling to know that regardless of what.. my mother's love is always there to comfort me.

I <3 that lady!!

And it's not a suprise that a tune like this comes from Jah Vinci.. the man is TALENTED!  And he always seem to sing about the things I care to hear about.

I've heard my share of shallow music and I'm getting so tired of  "on the surface" entertainers.  Right about now I need music that's deep.  Music that touches the soul....  Music that doubles as therapy.

PLAYLIST: KHAGO - FIRST HAIL (TAXI STAND RIDDIM)

Khago is quickly becoming the type of artist you can rely on for good music.  You know how some artists like ASSASSIN or TANYA STEPHENS always come out with good music??  Before you even hear their latest single you know you're going to like it because it's THEM whose singing it..

I don't usually feel that way about new artists because they usually buss with one big tune and follow up with 4 bad ones.  What a disappointment!

Especially since I HATE hearing bad music.

But not with Khago.. he seems to stay relevant by consistently giving us good music.  The last couple of songs I've heard from him I've enjoyed and I'm not the only one!!  I hear his tunes on the radio, at parties and even on my dancehall mixtapes.

These days he's in constant rotation... so it's just a matter of staying there!

JAMAICAN WOMAN SURVIVES AFTER BEING STABBED 100 TIMES BY HER BABY FATHER [VIDEO]

I feel bad for the man that think he can fuck me and beat me in the same day, week, month or year.. YUH MAD!!

This young lady shares a devastating story of a graphic encounter with the father of her only child -- during a disagreement, a simple conversation turned into a nightmare when her ex lover grabbed a knife and attempted to murder her in cold blood.

Situations like this often stem from a history of domestic abuse and she is blessed to be alive today to tell her story, remarry and raise her child.

Watch her as she tells her story and show her wounds.   Think about her the next time you find yourself, a friend, or a family member in a similar situation and understand that not everyone is as lucky to survive such an unfortunate experience.

Domestic violence is REAL!  Big up to Annmarie for this video!!

PLAYLIST: BERES HAMMOND - DOCTORS ORDERS (I FEEL A SHIVER)

I felt like spending some quality time to listen to my main man, Beres Hammond.  The man with the sweetest voice and the sweetest lyrics.

His music is timeless.  It's like some artists have an expiration date.  You hear a song at every party, on every mixtape and after 2 months it gets TRASHED!  You never hear that song again!!

But not Beres Hammond, he has songs on top of songs, hits on top of hits that you just want to hear over and over again.  And like good wine, (not moscato), his music gets even better with age.

Here is a tune that I've loved for YEARS and I don't mind hearing it for years and years to come!

PLAYLIST: MAD COBRA - WRITING THESE LINES (TRUE FEELINGS RIDDIM)

MAD COBRA shocked the hell outta me with this tune!

When I first heard it I thought it sounded nice so I searched for the artist..  Even when I heard that it was Cobra I just thought it was a new artist or something.  Not the Mad Cobra that sing, "FLEEXXX, time to have sex!!"

Lo and behold.... ah him same one!

It just shows his versatility!  You haven't heard him in a while but the musical gene still lives...

DRIVER.... DON'T STOP AT ALL!! [DOCUMENTARY VIDEO]

YOoooooo!!!

This video is crazy!!  Sometimes I REALLY believe I can overcome anything but then I see videos like this.  I quickly realize I can NOT live under any and any circumstance.  This one being a PRIME example.

Nobody should have to live like this.

I bet you thought JAMAICA had the most HARDCORE drivers in the world!  Put the medal aside.. and take a look at CONGO.

When you're done, let me know if you can hold your own on roads like this!

PLAYLIST: KASHIEF LINDO - THE FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST

To be young and naive....

When I was younger I use to think that EVERY artist who sang a song wrote their own lyrics!!  Even Sanchez!!!!  I was in for a MAJOR shock when the truth came out...

Same goes for this tune.  This was the only version of the song I ever heard until I went to college.. and then I came across country singer, Sheryl Crow who also have a remake of this same song.  Back then I was thinking she was trying to get rich from singing reggae tunes!!!

I know better now! LOL

Some people are great at ORIGINATING... others are great at RE-CREATING!!

I don't care who originally made this tune... Kashief Lindo's cover will always be my favorite version..

MARLON AKA DANGLES BDAY BASH / M&R MOVEMENTS ANNIVERSARY PARTY @ TOTAL ECLIPSE [BROOKLYN, NY 06-04-11]

To view the complete PHOTO ALBUM, click here!!!

Big up to Marlon on his earthstrong!  We celebrated his birthday this past Saturday Night at TOTAL ECLIPSE and it was WILD!!

M&R Movements take partying to another level..  This is not the first time I've been to a M&R Movements Production and please understand that this wont be the last...

It's only a matter of time before they move these parties to a larger venue because TOTAL ECLIPSE was packed on Saturday night. The place was filled with NY's FINEST!!  I mean, check the pics.. the club was filled with nothing but FLY GIRLS and SEXY FELLAS! They were clean cut, well dressed, wore cute shoes and smelled good.

People hopped on buses, planes and trains to make it to this party.. so where were you???  If you wasn't there is waste you ah waste yuh life!!

Even the early juggling segment was memorable!

I cant remember the last time I went to a party and heard all of my favorite oldies but goodies.  And trust me, I was impressed!!  The selectors for the night must have been handpicked because there were some of the best I heard in a long time.

So during the early juggling I danced to the lovers rock and got acquainted with the bartender who made the perfect drink each and every time.

Usually, if you wanna hear hip hop.. you have to go to a hip hop party. If you want to hear Dancehall, you'd have to go to a Dancehall party. Very rarely do they combine the two and they actually do it well.

But they played a good amount of everything!  From the old school reggae to the new school dancehall, the hip hop, and even the soca.  Had me jumping up and down when the DJ said palaaaaaannnnccceee!!!  Yoooo!!! I had fun!

The man of the hour was in the building looking sharp and showing love to his friends that made their way out for the big celebration.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARLON!!!

Everybody in the tri state area showed up his big celebration, the party sell off, the vibes was nice, the girls in deh did ah step out an a gwaan bad for the video light and the fellas had their swagga TUN all the way UP!

The music was nice, the host was gracious and I felt safe.  This wasn't the type of party where you had to worry about badman-ism or shoot outs.  They pulled a nice crowd, but not just a crowd but a QUALITY crowd.  Not just any dibby dibby gyall or no ole cruff from off the street.  I'm talking well dressed, full ah style, smell good, look good, and best of all.... DEM BUY OUT DI BAR!!!!!

Everyone came out to have a good time and so said so done...

When I left the party I passed another one that looked like a damn crime scene.  I was just happy to know seh anno dat me leave my house for!

Big up to the staff and crew for making everything run oh so smoothly.. from the folks at the door, security, bartenders and everyone in between. Many thanks!! I appreciate it when the night runs the way it's supposed to.

Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARLON.. yuh ting sell off.. you ah tek tings to higher heights so big up yuh self!!

BEFORE ONE BORN... AH NEXT ONE GONE!! MERITAL FAMILY LEAVES THE PORTMORE EMPIRE

So wait?!  By the end of the week the only person that will be left on the Gaza is Kartel!

Somebody open the door and the whole ah Kartel crew a run whey!  From listening to interviews everyone seems to be saying the same thing.  Kartel is "different" now.. Kartel "changed".. and my personal favorite, when Not Nice was asked, "Different how?"  He responded, "Yuh nuh see it??"

Yes.  I see it.  I don't know Kartel personally, but I surely see it and I know you do too!

In a statement, a member of Merital Family stated, "For the last year and a half we ah get stifle.  We ah get overpriced, dem a tell people seh we de pon tour and we de ya nah go nowhere.  We ah suffer, we nah get no promotion, we have kids to feed and me have my mother to take care of."

Another member stated, "VP Records called us about doing some promotion of the song [My Money HA HA] and that's how we found out it had been sold to a record label.  So now we call Tarik "Russian" Johnston and asked why him never tell we about the money and he said 'Kartel ah yu leader, mi think he would let you know', and then we cheked with our publishers and they told us that the credits for the writer of the song was Adidja Palmer and it was produced by Russian, that's all, no recognition, nothing!!  What about our publishing and our rights?  We have out song before we met Kartel and the song became a hit and we no achieve anything from it."

With that said, Merital Family will be handling their own booking and management now that they've managed to escape the Empire.

PLAYLIST: BLAK RYNO ft. WAHWA - CARPENTER (CURRANT RIDDIM)

I wonder if Blak Ryno is proud to see some more members to finally leave the Empire.  He came a long way because back when he released his statement saying that he's cutting ties with the Gaza I was a little worried that he wouldn't be able to sustain his career.... but fast forward to present day and he's doing great!

He always seem to be touring, the people are requesting his tunes and I can't get enough of this song..

Me deh yah ah send for my carpenter!!

PLAYLIST: SPRAGGA BENZ - COME HOME (HOTTA CLAPZ RIDDIM)

Spragga Benz is at it again!!  He just released his brand new tune called "Come Home" on the Hotta Clapz riddim and it ah mash up di place!

Wifey love to brag and boast 'bout they're man "MUST COME HOME ah night time!"  And matey fret every time their "man" leave the house..

What a calamity!!

PLAYLIST: LUTAN FYAH - RASTA

Even though today is not that day. I think one day I can consider myself a bonifide RAS.  I admire their way of life, the teachings and the lessons.

I see it in me, but it didn't manifest into anything yet so lets see what happens in my 30's.  As of now you can just call me rootsy because I need a few years to develop a stronger sense of discipline.

But on another note, I like this tune from Lutan Fyah.. why is he so underrated? I hear nuff tunes from him that I like but I don't see too much shows with him on the line up.  Maybe he does a lot of performances in Europe?  I don't know but these stage shows in New York need to add him to the list cause I'm ready to see him perform!

There's too much talent in Jamaica for these promoters to have the same 5 artists in rotation.  Broaden yuh horizons nuh?!

JAH VINCI AND NOT NICE INTERVIEW WITH "ENTERTAINMENT REPORT" ABOUT LEAVING THE PORTMORE EMPIRE

The news of Jah Vinci finally leaving the Portmore Empire STILL sweet me!

I feel like its a good move for himself, his family and his profession.. but even better,  he parted with Corey Todd who will now manage his musical career.  Corey Todd was an essential part in the rise of the Portmore Empire so I'm confident that he will do wonders with Jah Vinci's career.

Check out the video clip below to hear Jah Vinci and Not Nice talk about why they decided to leave the Empire and what events led to the recent change in path -- the beatings, the disrespect, the lack of shows and so much more!

LIVE A HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER LIFE THROUGH YOGA

I know my mom must be tired of me pressuring her about joining a yoga class.  Ever since I started practicing, I've been HOOKED!

I even feel stressed at the thought of missing a class..

Don't get me wrong, I'm still in the BASIC CLASS but the more I practice, the more I want to learn about the benefits because I can feel the difference throughout my body.

It's just sad that I'm usually the only African American in the class, which I'm not surprised, but why??  African Americans would benefit from yoga the MOST!

African Americans experience the greatest levels of high blood pressure in the United States while the consistent practice of yoga decreases blood pressure due to better circulation.

Yoga correlates to a stronger immune system, a balanced metabolism, aging, posture, and even your mood.  It lowers your cholesterol, it reduces your sodium level, and promotes flexibility and it's just great for your overall health and well being.

I love it so much that I want it for everyone around me.  For me, its gives me a sense of purity, a clear mind, and balance.  I want to live LONG,  I want to be HAPPY, HEALTHY and WISE.. which is why I incorporate yoga into my life.  That's something I think we should ALL want for ourselves...
